Those Saudis aren't fools; they know who their friends/enemies are. Obama bowed and acted humble and *respectfully*...and then behind their backs, virtually gave Iranian Mullahs the (nuclear) means to behead the very people he was bowing to. Con man/street hustlers pure and simple. We'll be lucky to survive his tenure minus serious hurt.

WOW...So being the ugly American abroad and not respecting local custom is an example of American exceptionalism? That explains a lot about why we have lost our way in the world....because this is a good example of what American exceptionalism looks like...we are are only exceptional in our self image....in our arrogance and our boorish behavior....and for that we are losing our spot atop the world in leaps and bounds.
The fact that Female leaders from the US "comply" with local custom while in backward nations like Saudi Arabi while those fricking neanderthrals come here and ignore OUR customs and go to the local water park in a fricking dress is what makes America exceptional....not our doing the same thing

I remember when I saw Obama bow, I was actually stunned. He was so afraid of words and how to use them when describing terrorism yet that one move: bowing to the Saudis sent a message through the ME, Obama was a Saudi pawn.

So two years ago DT says no head scarf is insulting and now HIS wife is doing it? Seems par for the course.
I don't know what is proper but I trust both presidents thought about it and made a proper decision.
