I hope this mentality spreads - with a vengeance.

This right here:

Restaurant owner Bill McNally gave us a written statement, saying he has a "zero tolerance policy for no show/no call incidents and the 12 employees violated that policy."

Problem is, they didn't pay attention.

Let's see, where do my loyalties lie? With my employer and my job, which puts food on my table and a roof over my head? Or with some nebulous political protest statement?

Not really a tough decision for any clear thinking person.

CATOOSA, Okla. (KTUL) - A dozen workers at a Catoosa restaurant are without a job after getting fired for skipping work as a show of support for “A Day Without Immigrants.”

The restaurant workers are all Hispanic and say it was important to them to participate in the national protest.

But they didn’t think it would cost them their jobs.

“They feel like they’ve been unfairly terminated," said a friend, translating for the employees.

The wages of sin is death. They killed their ability to sustain themselves.

I don't know if he really did or would say this, and really don't care, but as far as I go, yes, I absolutely celebrate when some people lose their jobs. A job is not a right, no matter your sex, race or years of service.

They didn't even go to a rally. Article said they stayed home - and then lost their jobs. I'm sorry but

I guess they didn't understand there are consequences for decisions. They fired themselves when they chose to miss work and put the business in a bind.

What...you mean people have to be responsible for their actions? That sounds so pre-Obama.

Don't feel sorry for a one of them... Choose to protest and skip a scheduled shift, pay the price.

Unfortunately, I bet a lawyer will find a way to sue the restaurant and win.
