CATOOSA, Okla. (KTUL) - A dozen workers at a Catoosa restaurant are without a job after getting fired for skipping work as a show of support for “A Day Without Immigrants.”

The restaurant workers are all Hispanic and say it was important to them to participate in the national protest.

But they didn’t think it would cost them their jobs.

“They feel like they’ve been unfairly terminated," said a friend, translating for the employees.

Don't want to lose your job? Then don't lay out of work. It's a pretty simple concept.

But they got cleaned on Friday, so it's all good.

These protests remind of that dumb gasoline day boycott that idiots organized a long time ago. Bet you they filled their gas tanks the very next day?

I hate to be the one to say it, but causes have consequences. Just not always the ones you hope for.

Well, to be totally accurate, they did not even call in. I imagine it was hard for this small business owner to even open that day. What the hell did they expect?

Amen to that! I even have to work some Holidays in a year.

I could not even take a day off to celebrate when Ragnar Northbrook and his Norsemen pillaged Lindisfarne!

Exactly. They should have been thankful they had a job in the first place. Maybe the 9th circuit will allow them to sue the restaurant owner.

Lolz, I know the owner from days up there in Tulsa. He is a fair employer. "Show up, do your work, stay out of trouble, and all is well" type of guy. So, they failed to show up, do their work. He can replace them easier than changing a light bulb.

He just got some free advertising/publicity for his business out of the workers being stupid, well played Bill!

Exactly.

They're liberals. They didn't think about what to expect because liberals don't think, they feel. In their little world they have the "right" to do whatever they want in the name of "protesting" and never have to face any consequences.

Did they not consider that getting fired was a real possibility?
