Tulsa cop not guilty in fatal shooting of unarmed black man
By Eric Levenson and Justin Gamble, CNN
Updated 10:54 PM ET, Wed May 17, 2017

(CNN)[Breaking news update, published at 10:52 p.m. ET]

Betty Shelby, the Tulsa police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man last year, was found not guilty of first-degree manslaughter by a jury late Wednesday.
In September 2016, Shelby shot Terrence Crutcher next to his SUV on an Oklahoma road.

Police said Crutcher failed to obey commands, and Shelby testified that she thought Crutcher was reaching for something in his SUV.

Yep... No brainer.

BLM playing anti-cop games, win tragic prizes.

None. However, the court of "I'm not dying at work today and going home to my kids" prevailed.

So a cop shoots a guy who is unarmed b/c he does something she doesn't like. Nothing he did on that video showed any type of threat to her life. She THOUGHT she was in danger b/c of her own view on the situation. Is that the low standard we hold cops to now? If they think something might be bad, just blow the guy away and check it out later?

Pretty much...

Less than 2 months from 5 officers dead, 9 officers wounded, two civilians wounded, and the perp taken out by a bomb squad robot in Dallas.

Nothing he did

Why was he going back to his vehicle?

It's going to take a lot of unarmed white people getting shot by police for anyone to care. And also for the left to shut up for six months about the police's supposed "war on black people."

No clue. We do know after the fact he wasn't to get a gun. But again, to give cops free reign to engage people with deadly force for "thoughts' or "feelings" without any repercussions is a bad precedent. LA is an open carry state. What happens one day if a cop sees a guy walking downtown with his AR-15, decides he's a threat, and shoots him after the guy makes a "sudden" move. Will that be ok too?

No riots coming. BLM knows the White House doesn't have their back anymore.

My wife is almost deaf. It's not out of the realm of possibility that if she were to get pulled over for a traffic violation, she would be reaching for her license or registration while the cop was telling her to show her hands, and not realize he was speaking to her. In today's climate she could get shot for that. And if so, I would have to accept the fact that her killer could easily walk away like nothing happened.

Comply with commands. Problem solved. If the commands are unlawful or an abuse of power, work it out with the courts afterwards.

Sorry, I'm not ok with police being able to execute people freely just because their commands aren't met in a timely fashion or how they would like. That's a bit too much power for my taste

Probably the same reason he was standing in the middle of the road with his car running- he was high on PCP and had no clue what was going on.
