What?
There weren't claims of faked data (although some misrepresented it as that), although protocols were not followed, which is troubling in and of itself.

And the 300 scientist letter wasn't stating that "climate change" was bogus, rather they were urging Trump to withdrawal from the climate change agreement.

In other words, they were focusing on the problems with the agreement's solutions, not trying to refute the theory in its entirety.

Tucker asked Bill what proof he has that humans have caused GW. He didn't have any.

He went on a detailed, if weird, rant about the status of climate absent humans. And Tucker had absolutely no response to that but to go on his own rant that was filled with argumentative filler.

I'm not kidding when I say I like Tucker a lot. But I think he often utilizes the tactic of merely tripping up or poking holes in his opponent's worldview rather than engaging in any substantive argument. He controls the format, he controls the time of the segment, and he knows guests will typically allow him to dominate the conversation and speak over them. I don't mind that within reason.

Tucker has no scientific competency. He clearly has a belief about AGW, but denied it during that segment for purposes of not having to stake out a position to defend. Leaving him free to attack Nye and Nye's position under the guise of truth seeking.

I don't like Nye, so it's fine. But I don't view that sort of thing as a substantive take down.

But many on here would have an issue with her since she still seems to believe in climate change, and now many want to argue it's all bogus in its entirety.

She's a scientist. Facts matter. The climate has always changed. Why wouldn't she acknowledge this?

She seems to believe in the general premise of "global warming."

I personally think she's taken one of the most "scientific" stances on the issue. But both sides have take exteme positions, at least the loudest ones.

Take a look at a graph of carbon emissions on earth and compare that to temp changes. They take a similar upward trend in the last 100 or so years.

So do a lot of things. Correlation does not equal causation.

Wow. Watched that shite show. One of the greatest attributes of any scientist is the ability to both inform on, and defend their scientific point of view. I always kind of liked Bill Nye. I'm seriously disappointed.

He was crushed.

Nah. It's similar to how I don't think "Fake news!!!!" is that awesome of a take down either. We all tend to see what we want to see.

Should he interview himself? no shite he doesn't have to stake out a position.

I always assumed everyone sort of knew or assumed themselves that Nye was like a high school science teacher.

Isn't he?

He teaches textbook dogma.

I don't know why everyone gets their panties in a wad about him.

It's not like he's some expert on anything...he hosted a kid's show...he didn't work for NASA.

It's like getting upset that Dora the Explorer couldn't find Uganda on a map.

You missed the point, probably purposefully.

Tucker has a position on AGW. He pretends not to have one so he can argue against another position, and then when pressed, say that he's open minded and thereby deflect attention away from his own inability to defend his position.

The distinction is that his entire show is about arguing with guests, not interviews. His goal is to win, not to solicit information.

I knew all of that. But now he's parading around as an "expert" on tv and in politics and is using his celebrity to poison the debate.

Oh, of course, if YOU hosted the show instead, it would be MUCH better.

And a lot of the 300 weren't scientists. It was more like 300 people, some of whom were scientists.
