@realDonalndTrump: Rand Paul is a friend of mine but he is such a negative force when it comes to fixing healthcare. Graham-Cassidy Bill is GREAT! Ends Ocare!

Look I'm a Trump supporter but he is siding on the wrong side on this one. Rand Paul isnt a negative force he is about the only one that could really straighten this shite out.

Trump is so caught up in just getting ANYTHING passed that he is going to push for a shite bill to pass. Rand Paul should have been in charge of writing this repeal from day 1.

Well, yea. Same reason Obamacare was passed in the first place. It amazes me that the GOP wants to rebrand that shite as their own creation. On second thought...no it doesn't. They have proven their stupidity repeatedly.

I think Trump is trying to be a realist here. We're not going to get a Rand-quality bill passed through both houses. Not with the likes of McCain holding it up. People are suffering right now under Obamacare and Trump wants to make some progress, even if it's not ideal.

I mean, that's what he did we the last 2 healthcare offers. Also, ending Obamacare doesn't mean it necessarily goes away. It may be replaced with something similar.

I like Rand and I like his ideas the only problem is there aren't enough people in congress that will support his type of bill.

You are right about Trump, but there's no way any Rand Paul bill would have had a chance in Congress.

I like Rand a lot and believe he's one of the few people in DC that really try to represent the people, but he's way too idealistic sometimes to operate effectively in our system of government.

Political realism is what I believe most people want. I would love a complete repeal of O-Care, but Trump just wants to get something done. Conservatives can't hold out for a perfect plan if they can't get their own caucus to work together.

But that's not realism, if it doesn't actually fix anything. It's just the appearance that something was done.

Trump isn't perfect and nobody is claiming he is. But he's infinitely better than most of the alternatives.

This is all we ever fricking hear. Liberals hold all the power and nothing small government can be passed. frick that noise. Sell it. Push it. Go on tour like Obama did. Force the GOPe to kill the bill again and force those fricks to deal with the consequences.

Trump is showing he is a pussy and can't push against the establishment and win… or won't.

Just watched Rand Pauls speech to congress about voting on unconstitutional wars. Was one of the top 5 speeches i have heard this year. Congress needs to stop passing the buck and do its fricking job! Make them answer to the voters like the check and balances system was made for.

Dumping Healthcare onto the States seems to be the best move for now; assuming one opposes the Government version. Like Graham said..."socialism or federalism". It's either on to Single Payer or give the States a shot.

And just getting Obama's name off the thing will help a lot of Dems get back into the 'next fix' game. No way they EVER vote Obama's sig accomplishment down, without eternal damnation.

I agree with you but a bill Rand puts forth won't get 25 votes in the Senate.

They only have until the 30th before the rule changes.

Dumping a terrible, complicated, and inefficient policy onto 50 states doesn't make it any less terrible and complicated, but now we're going to have to create 50 new sets of inefficient and bloated government groups to try to figure it out. Seems like it's going to make it even more inefficient.

Absolutely. Good president's lead. All of this "Rand is unrealistic" bullshite is just cover for Trump not motivating anyone. The guy will never be held accountable for anything by his flock.

They're selling themselves short

Rand has yet to realize that the way to get what you want is by chipping away a little at a time. He's so focused on winning the war, that he bypasses winnable battles. The biggest obstacle in the way of meaning reform is getting Obamacare out of the way. Once it's gone, it's gone, and everyone can move forward on other healthcare reforms.

That's the problem. It doesn't really get rid of Obamacare, and government doesn't work like it should work incremental steps anyways. It checks off a box, gets a fancy headline, and moves on to something else.

Wish it were that way. Trump has already called out the ones holding up progress. Obama got stuff done because the Dems, when they controlled congress, were in lock-step with the party. The Republicans are more fractured. The good ones are too principled to compromise and the bad ones are too beholden to act against the people who pull their purse strings. The GOP is a mess and no one of substance in the Oval Office would get much done with these clowns in power.
