If he thinks they're making up quotes he should sue them.

He won't because they aren't.

For instance....any freaking "leak" that's been put out there and reported. I would call their bluff, say its a lie, take them to court and demand them to prove it. Efff that "can't disclose my sources" BS. Time to make some heads roll and get back to real news where Bezos isn't paying for the lawyers on one coast to stop Trump's immigration EO and then on the East coast he's pushing the same anti Trump agenda through his Washington ComPost garbage.

He's not wrong. Free press used to mean not punishable by the government. Now it means prop up those you like and try to bring down those you don't with very little regard for actual journalism. That is disgusting.

It is disgusting that they have no ethics. Just pushing their ideology and expecting the deplorables to swallow it or just keep quiet. Ain't happening now.

Folks that aren't rabid-anti-trumper-word-parsers know what he was saying.

Like Mattis said:
quote:

Mattis issued a brief statement shortly afterward saying: "Recent reports that the President called for an increase in the U.S. nuclear arsenal are absolutely false. This kind of erroneous reporting is irresponsible."

But "those familiar" and "unnamed sources" they are so awesome CNN is leaning on them more than ever I suspect.

Purposefully fake news trotted out as fact should have serious consequences.

I'm conservative. I don't support restrictions on speech. I do find it disgusting that the press is putting lies and half truths out there in an attempt to formulate opinion that promotes their political agenda.

big freaking deal!!!! OH NOOOOOO, EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO TELL THE TRUTH! WHAT WILL WE EVER DO?> Seriously, I'm sure they've all lied at some point but the MSM is fighting Trump. They control most of TV, entertainment industry etc and they don't like Trump and they've used lies to fight him every step of the way. If you have facts that Trump did something wrong, then lets gooo! Let me see them...otherwise STFU and move on to your "editorial" about how you hate the president.

“I wasn't a fan of Iraq. I didn't want to go into Iraq.”

“And yet the murder rate in our country is the highest it’s been in 47 years, right? Did you know that? Forty-seven years.”

“We got 306 because people came out and voted like they've never seen before so that's the way it goes. I guess it was the biggest Electoral College win since Ronald Reagan.”

“122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield. Just another terrible decision!”

“The trade deficit with Mexico is close to $70 billion, even with Canada it’s $17 billion trade deficit with Canada.”

“We’re the highest-taxed nation in the world.”

“I'm cutting the price of airplanes with Lockheed.”

“Last week a brand-new coal mine just opened in the state of Pennsylvania, first time in decades, decades.”

There are hundreds.

"The U.S. has the highest top corporate tax rate at least among advanced economies" is a fact.

“With just one negotiation on one set of airplanes, I saved the taxpayers of our country over $700 million.”

“To save taxpayer dollars, I’ve already begun negotiating better contracts for the federal government — saving over $700 million on just one set of airplanes of which there are many sets.”

At least 600m saving was already happening.

quote:

A 6 percent cost reduction would amount to $570 million shaved off that $9.5 billion total, while a 7 percent reduction is $665 million. As such, Trump's claimed $600 million cut is right in the ballpark of what the price reduction was going to be all along. General Bogdan's prediction is less than two months old, and there's been nothing, for better or for worse, that would impact his forecast.

Trump claims he got involved in the F-35 program "about a month ago" and that there was "no movement". Lockheed Martin CEO Marilyn Hewson visited the White House on January 23. The president has not disclosed the details of his deal with Lockheed Martin and how the two reached the $600 million dollar savings figure. It is unlikely that the planes in this new development stage are suddenly 12 to13 percent cheaper, which is what would have to happen for Trump to have achieved an additional $600 million savings over Bogdan's forecasted price cut, so perhaps Trump is personally taking credit for cost reductions that were going to happen all along.

That "fact" checker is pretty interesting. Among those already stated wrongly, let's add the "disputes" by Corker's COS.

“I was in Tennessee — I was just telling the folks — and half of the state has no insurance company, and the other half is going to lose the insurance company.”

Nope. Every county in TN has an insurer. Rates were initially formally tendered in late April. Trump said this on 3/17. By this point anyone who had the data, which Trump does, would have a strong indication of where there would or wouldn't be at least one insurer.

quote:

For a few months in early 2017, it appeared that the Knoxville area would have no insurers offering exchange plans in 2018. But Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee has agreed to re-enter the Knoxville market (after leaving it at the end of 2016). In addition, Oscar Health Insurance Company will enter the Tennessee exchange in the Nashville area.

The fact that Trump hates a free press is evidence that he leans towards fascism, as his father once did. A truly free press is an essential element for a free democratic society, and the fact that Trump doesn't seem to understand that is sad and disturbing.
