Why would he even say we have military options in Venezuela???

He must be sucking up to Graham and McCain who at this moment are celebrating the opportunity for more war and more spending on their defense contractor contributors.

The more he talks, the nore he dilutes any real threat he's trying to issue.

I would like a little more isolation for, Mr. Trump. Let's keep our eye on that big pile of bar-b-qued kimchi for now...

Otherwise, carry on, sir.

He said military options were available if necessary.

I'm outraged. He told the truth.

FWIW, he didn't threaten anyone. I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.

It's not like Trump doesn't have a history of backing up a threat. Syria and Assad would agree with me.

To you maybe.

Why take away leverage when you don't have to?

Trump tells reporters at his New Jersey golf course Friday that he's "not going to rule out" a military option."

This has been his MO from day 1. Not ruling out any options when asked what he will do. I'd like to know the context of how he answered. Did a reporter ask him if he was considering a military option or did he say something about a military option?

You kinda sound like you're looking to make something out of possibly nothing

why doesn't the article quote some context, like exactly what he was responding to and other things? sounds like he gave one of those vague, measured responses that people have been begging him to do for the past 2 days...and he's still attacked for it

The media is in a tizzy about it. So are people who seemingly take direction from the media.

The inability to think for oneself is amazing.

BS.

When the President of the most powerful nation in the history of man says he is considering "military options" when he is asked about a country he is making a threat.

What the hell is our obligation in Venezuela? What threat does Venezuela poise to the USA?

It's time we reign in these war mongering President we have had the last 50 years.

quote:

Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to declare war. The President, meanwhile, derives the power to direct the military after a Congressional declaration of war from Article II, Section 2, which names the President Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
