100 senators (2 per state)
200 house seats (1-8 per state)

300 is enough, worked in the movie

Thus 235 useless house seats go bye bye

Winning, swamp being drained

No he doesn't. It will probably just result in the 200 swampiest reps remaining.

Hell no.

They need to increase the size of congress.

The smaller congress the easier it is for lobbyists to capture them.

It now averages to one representative in the house for every 740,000 people. Not very good representation IMHO. Increase the size, but have term limits.

Yeah, let's give even more power to the ignorant masses who live in a corn field and have met maybe 1 person not their race in their entire lives.

You must live a miserable life. I'd hate to be you.

If anything, we need to go to 250 senators and 1000 house members.

Dilute their individual power and the body will be more responsive to the majority. Will also allow for the growth of third parties.

And while he is at it he needs to abolish the Department of Education, that ill fated, ill conceived, worthless Cabinet level office of Jimmah's.

BTW, the reason why such are allowed to remain isn't what they provide as those costs pale in comparison to what is paid to those who administer/oversee....the expense is on the salary side of things

But... But... But... Sputter... But, you'll fracture America with all these small splinter areas forming new political parties and reducing the power of the Dems and Republicans! We can't have THAT!

I like where your head is at but the problem isn't the number of Congressmen and women but how many are driven by the desire to remain in power forever. Term limits would be a better solution IMO.

I agree with this.

First, it would never, ever have a chance at passing.

Second, it will lead to disproportional representation. You will end up with members who represent such a large number of people, or such a large portion of a state that they will become very powerful and influential. One of the ideas of having a lot of congressional districts is that each area actually ends up with someone representing them who actually represents them and their values. That won't be the case if you have less representatives with larger districts.

I agree with the others that this is a terrible idea. But, he would be a hero if he would become a champion of rescinding the 17th amendment and worked to get the states on board. It would be good for the states to have representation in the federal government again.
