A bit understated...

You're really going against the grain around here

Stick to winding up the Phans. There's more comedy to mine.

But he IS an American hero for his war record

You mean for almost sinking the USS Forrestal?

This is a picture of LCDR McCain's handy work before it got completely out-of-control:

You guys are just giving this weak, outdated troll thread creedence.

It's some of Burt's worst work, really.

Maybe because he sees a whole lot of McCain lovers and neocons here still fawning over that piece of shite who has never given much of a damn about this country.

One incorrect but widely quoted theory has him triggering the Zuni missile with the exhaust of his own plane by "wet-starting" – deliberately dumping fuel into the afterburner before starting in order to shoot a large flame from the tail of the aircraft. This is a preposterous notion. For one thing, A-4 jets flew at subsonic speeds and were not equipped with afterburners. According to the Military Analysis Network site maintained by the Federation of American Scientists, the A-4 was powered by a "Single, Pratt & Whitney, J-52-P-408A non-afterburning, turbojet engine." The manufacturer's description of the aircraft also describes the powerplant as "One 11,187-pound-thrust P&W J52-P408 engine," with no mention of an afterburner.

And while pilots tell us that a “wet start” is possible even without an afterburner, the theory fails for another reason. The tail of McCain's plane was pointed over the side of the carrier and away from other planes at the time, and the F4 Phantom fighter that fired the missile was facing McCain's plane from the opposite side of the deck, as shown in Caiella’s diagram, in other diagrams, and in Navy film of the fire.

So then what is your assessment of the President? Based on his own actions, comments, tweets, etc....it can't be up to par with Sen McCain...

McCain haters hate McCain for being a RINO that has only fought conservatives at every turn while voting for liberal legislation and being a huge warmonger.

Trump so far has been the complete opposite of that.

People judge you by your actions, not your words.

No, it's based on the Navy investigation which includes physical evidence and extensive film/photographic records. Your article, on the other hand, seems to be based on... what exactly?

As though he had a choice? C'mon, man...

Going further, this whole military, police and "first responder" worship is out of hand. The cops and firefighters around here are dunces and the "returning veterans" are laid up in a mobile home, beating their wife.

The account of the missle launch on board the aircarft carrier is based on McCain's statement. Of course he wouldn't admit to it. Guy is a coward.

And if I had quoted that part, you might have a point. Instead I quoted the other evidence you are very conspicuously not addressing.
