You win the lottery and now have 50 million.... You gonna give it to deshaun over in the hood or Cletus over in the trailer park to manage for you?

He's right. Why would anyone allow an unsuccessful person to lead. Take that emotional bullshite down to the salvation army and hand out some bread.

Meh. Dumb to say because everyone's definition of "poor" is different.

Why would you want a poor person in any economic roles?

There is a reason they are poor.

Would you putt a career criminal in charge of the Justice Dept.? What about a pacifist or Bergdahl in charge of Defense? A person that has proven failure in finance in charge of the economy?

True story - I was in Kosovo and a local political figure (a Muslim, by the way, however nominal) says this to me:

"I understand that we're backward. We have a lot to learn from Americans, British, Germans and Italians. But what about all these UN folks they have sent? We're third world, but we're European. What do we have to learn from someone from sub-Saharan Africa or SE Asia? We need roads, bridges, electrical plants and infrastructure. A lot of these UN folks are behind us. What do we have to learn from other third world countries?"

I didn't have a good answer for him.

Same thing here. Who on Earth would put a broke-arse cracka in charge of the commerce department or any economic policy? To whom does that make sense?

Wouldn't we want a person who has demonstrated success with money (i.e. a wealthy person)?

I wouldn't have put it as a "rich" person but maybe a "financially sound" person.

Rich people are not necessarily smart financially. Look at most lottery winners, most are broke or in far worse shape financially within 5 to 10 years of winning.

But generally, Yea, I want someone who has and is able to maintain money making those important decisions.

He's right, but someone needs to tell him some phrasing.
