It's called propagandizing. Nielsen Ratings speak to relative interest in the 2013 vs 2017 inaugarations.
Insofar as security, rain, thugs, and a heavily partisan metroplex may have affected numbers, the MSM claim of scant crowds is a dishonest effort to convey national disinterest, and it is a flat out lie.
