WWF was amazing. It took every bad thing you could think of and turn it into a wrestler for vicarious revenge.
IE.. people hate taxes. McMahon creates Irving R. Shyster. IE, IRS. A lawyer who pronounces that he is going to audit everyone in the audience. It was great.

Also, Trump has been friends with the McMahons since the 80s. He knows them well and obviously realizes they are both intelligent people. Linda was the CEO and basically ran the business side of the company for many years before she left to pursue politics. WWE is a billion dollar international company thanks in part to Linda.

Vince and Linda have grown a small north eastern wrestling territory into a billion dollar multi-national entertainment conglomerate.
WWE and its subsidiaries are a lot more the largest two wrestling promotions in North America.
While Vince is the one who revolutionized wrestling, Linda is the one responsible for the growth of the business.
This is a fantastic appointment.

Frankly it's Pro Sports meet the dramatic arts; so if it's shady, it's probably because those other things are shady too.
