Radio saying that they interviewed voters. Claim dems turned out to vote for Thad.
WHy would they do that? Dems want McDaniel to win because they think it will give Childers a shot to win in November.

Not by Childers he's not.

A 700-vote swing in Covington would push McDaniel to 49.8%.
Holmes County will likely cancel out Covington. Looking at what is left, its a net few hundred votes for Thad in Warren, maybe a few hundred in Hinds, and whoever benefits from Rankin.
Rankin could actually swing either one over 50%.

In states who don't register R and D, some states where one election is obvious for one winner, the party of the landslide would intentionally vote for the weaker candidate in the other to help them in the general.

If Cochran wins 85% of the remaining votes, he would not win. McDaniel or runoff are the only two statistical outcomes. McDaniel would need 57% of the remaining vote.

That should clench the run off at least. This is great stuff.

Holmes county still at 0%.
As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 19,198 people residing in the county. 83.4% were Black or African American, 15.6% White, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% Native American, 0.1% of some other race and 0.6% of two or more races. 0.7% were Hispanic or Latino (of any race).
15% of 19k is just around 2,900. Only 20% of them are adult Republicans leaving maybe 600 votes...insignificant.
Holmes is part of Mississippi's 2nd congressional district, which is represented by Democrat Bennie Thompson which won tonight with 93% of the vote.

Sadly, I don't know where that is or how it would play. I don't drive through it, so it's not McDaniel country.

I heard it's because the telegraph at the courthouse is broken and they are sending the results via Pony Express
