No facts or anything backing this up, just been up all night watching Alex Jones videos and drinking Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Is there any way that they could be the result of cyber attacks, i.e. hostile actors gaining control of the Navy ship's navigation system or that of the foreign vessel? If that was the case, the military certainly wouldn't let that kind of information leak for security purposes.

I think this has to be a possibility. It just doesn't make sense otherwise

Navy has already said they're looking into possible cyber infilitration.

My guess is that the container ships were the ones more likely to be hacked and redirected.

Am I the only one amused by the fact that any time someone uses critical thinking on this board, it's considered "tin foil hat time?"

This board is like huddled sheep, terrified of original thought or moving even the slightest inch away from the herd.

I am entertained.

Possible but Crypto is the Navy's thing, they are really good at it.

Michael Savage was questioning this after the first one

Like I mentioned, it could be the access into a foreign ship's navigational controls and the Navy ship's hesitation to fire upon a merchant vessel. The question becomes what it these are dry runs, and at some point a merchant vessel has some type of explosive on it and rams into a navy ship, then detonates.

This has to be sabotage. From within:

a) possibly a terrorist/enemy infiltrated the US Military? (SEE the Fort Hoood shooter) Or,

b) somehow a GPS hack from the outside.

Like someone said properly in another thread: they will never admit it in public; but heads will roll and be fired as SOP-- and that is a shame to ruin long military careers over this...

My mind went straight to some kind of radar blocking technology. I mean, this goes against every assumption we have about naval competence. But it's not my world, so I just listen to more knowledgeable people and shake my head.

It's been brought up several times.

Some have said the sonar/radar systems are not online and others say they can be. So it's a possibility especially considering two in such a short time.

Someone also said they all have come from the 7th Fleet. The situation definitely is cause for concern and to consider outside influences.

If it is a technical problem, it is probably more to do with a recent upgrade on software, certain system designs, or just the personnel not being familiar with a new system.

There have been a large number of radar upgrades over the last year or so. Anyone in the navy familiar with them?

Hacking is a huge possibility here and hardly anyone is talking about it.

Hacking our GPS is pretty much impossible. I won't go into the details but just know that in order to do this you would need to have gained access to very sensitive crypto keys.

Yep, look up Walker in your local paper online in the 80's and 90s. What IF one of the CT's is an infiltrated enemy? BTW: do they even have the rate of RM's anymore?
