Tim Allen Says the Hollywood Anti-Trump Vibe Is No Joke, It's Like 1930s Germany Out There

In a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Allen seemed defensive about the fact that he had attended President Donald Trump's Inauguration:
“I went to see Democrats and Republicans.”
Kimmel laughed, saying, “I'm not attacking you.”
Allen played it off:
"In this town? I’m not kidding. You gotta be real careful around here. You get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes.
This is like ‘30s Germany. I don’t know what happened. If you’re not part of the group, ‘You know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.’"

I know he's using some hyperbole but the sentiment doesn't shock me. Progressives are the most intolerant bunch around....and Hollywood is their Mecca.

It's kind of come full circle from the McCarthy hearings, hasn't it? I wonder if any of those left-wing loons have ever recognized the irony inherent in their current mindset?

Well, they don't study history. So, I doubt it.

We are flirting with a modern McCarthyism.
I honestly think that a big part of why the pollsters had trouble in 2016 was because a lot of Trump supporters didn't tell anyone. They'd either hang up or just say what they think the pollsters wanted to hear.
That says a lot more about modern progressives and their lack of tolerance than it does about Trump supporters value of privacy. On several occasions in my area, Trump yard signs were vandalized with swasticas or destroyed or stolen. Neighbors are just not tolerant enough to handle a Trump supporter nearby. Progressives actually think that Trump supporters are racist, and they use that mindset to justify their extreme intolerance.

Some good news is that the Hollywood institution is dying. Movies and MSM TV are no longer what they were and are diminishing in influence each year as alternative media makes in-roads. They'll pull much of the left coast down with them, but their reach won't be able to infiltrate everyone.

It isn't just Hollywood. I think Hillary's "Deplorable/racist/homophobic/sexist/xenophobic" comments about people that didn't support her actually mirrored the intolerance displayed by so many left wing voters in 2016.
I took this off Lincoln Highway in Greensburg PA back in October.

Did he do the drugs or just go to prison for dealing them?

This elect has brought out a lot of the worst in America.
I don't remember an actual presidential candidate dehumanizing their opponent's supporters by labeling them racist, homophobic, or deplorable before. Occasionally a pundit or surrogate might say something like that, but never the actual candidate.
If you can attach those tags to someone, you can almost do anything you want to them and still take the moral high road in your mind.
In the end, middle America (or Deplorable America to Democrats) felt that they had more in common with a guy that lives at the top of his own 5th Ave tower than the Democrat. Normally that would be a hint that things need to change within the party, but a lot of Democrats are clinging to this Russians nonsense instead of looking in the mirror.

Never thought about this, but he's right...

The Google Maps car has not come down my street yet.
How do I get my house fogged out like Obama did?

I found this gem today posted on the wall at one of my new favorite eateries uptown. Can't wait to go back!

Any reasonable person watching the Dem. Convention would have reached that conclusion. They're insane.

You also left out violence. This rhetoric started with Obama and Hillary just carried it over to her campaign bc it worked for BHO twice.
Make no mistake, the left and their media are dehumanizing half of America for a reason. That's rule number one when you are taking down an enemy: justify in everyone's mind that attacking these racists, sexists, homophobes, etc is good for society to progress.
