quote:
This cartoon is right and reasonable. It's just not representative of what is actually happening with many on the left right now.
Correct.
The left is using violence and intimidation to silence opinions with which they oppose while labeling the opposing speaker a "fascist."
It's kind of like "Through the Looking Glass."

I agree the first frame says it all.
And while I don't disagree directly with the rest of the comic, I personally don't like the tone.
One of the worsening problems we have in society today is that politics is becoming too polarized and people from opposite sides are not talking to one another.
I read this comic as tepidly endorsing violent/hateful behavior towards those who are saying things that you don't like.
Years ago, I remember people being more tolerant of the "wrong" opinions of others and it was almost like a badge of pride to show outwardly that someone saying things you disagree with doesn't really bother you at all because this is America dammit and it's a free country. Idiots are free to say whatever they want.
Now, it's like everyone goes hyperbolic at the least excuse. And thousands of us seem ready at the drop of a hat to form up into some venomous, screeching e-mob hellbent on ruining someone's life for daring to voice non-PC views.
And the thing is the life-ruining actually happens. People lose jobs before any attempt is made to sort anything out.
The end result is that there is a chilling effect on normal everyday speech of all kinds. Good citizens with jobs and families who stay out of trouble and pay their taxes do not feel comfortable speaking their minds at all, much less trying to tackle some thorny problem that requires nuanced treatment. Social problems can only fester in such a toxic environment.
I'd rather see a comic where after acknowledging the definition of free speech, the author promotes tolerance of diverse viewpoints and ridicules the seething, shaking, unhinged SJW mode of response.

It's more than being yelled at or boycotted, they're creating violence and injuring people.
Free speech doesn't give anyone permission to assault that person OR destroy property.

and the peons become the ruling class eventually, growing up in an America where republicans taking over the white house and congress is on par with mass genocide and civil rights violations of the 40's 50's and 60's, but will they lose their peon mindset when they do come to power or simply become the elites with a peon thought process (which I think is actually what is beginning to happen with those that did not experience mass human and civil rights violations in person starting to come into the age of elite) making the party more and more whimsical
