Wow, that's some loaded language there.
You go on supporting child rape, terrorism, and government overreach, and I'll go on supporting freedom, liberty, and puppies.

A device that plugs into your phone to see if text messages were being sent or read?? Yes i fully believe this is easily doable. Why would you expect that to not be possible?

Nor do you know how it works.
Unfortunately for you, I do know how it works. I also know its potential.

Maybe when you lose a wife or a child to a distracted driver your view will change.
I lost someone to a drunk driver. Still, your emotional bullshite is irrelevant here.

Guess we will just have to disagree on this.
Being right makes me fine with that.

Again, spare me the emotional bullshite. I get that you have nothing else to make your point, but this is useless to me.

How did the Police ever enforce the law prior to smart phones? I mean, all we hear is they "need" complete and total access to all of our phone data at any time or the country will go up in flames and criminals will run free.
Again, how did we ever survive as a nation prior to 2007? Maybe I just don't remember. Maybe it truly was mayhem back then and my PTSD is blocking it from my memory. Maybe criminals roamed the streets, which have since been cleaned up thanks to the Police reading everyone's iphone chats.

Where is your outrage for vehicles manufactured for being able to go over the speed limit?
I would be for something that limits the amount someone can go over. As for me I'm the guy you pass by doing 55 in a 65.

So you're a dangerous driver? Sweet, sweet irony.

What data does the device send through the device's port to get the phone to report this information? Or will you force every phone manufacturer who sells in the United States to create phones that are specifically compatible with such a device? If the phone is locked and its storage is encrypted, what does the device do? How does the device know if the text message was sent through automation or through a voice command? If the messaging was done through a different app other than the built-in SMS app, how will this app handle collecting data from every single app on the phone? Will you require every single person who writes an app for a mobile device purchase a textalyzer development kit so they can make sure their application is compliant with the textalyzer?
Do you know anything about electronics design, cybersecurity, or computer programming?

Whats dangerous about being in the right lane going 55? Its a max speed limit. I wake up early, go to work early, no need for me to be in a rush. I just sit back and enjoy the commute, without texting. You should give it a try sometime.

It's clear that he/she does not.

Troll confirmed

You understand that you can be cited for this, right? You know there's a reason for that, right? Hell, in some states, the fine for driving slow is more than it is for speeding.
I'm sure you knew that, though. Expert that you are.

I'm a fan of technology, myself. It's 2017. I have no need to use my hands for anything but the steering wheel.

I guess you want sobriety test to only be allowed after accidents as well?
If you're talking about random sobriety checkpoints, then yes. When the police are stopping every car to see if someone is breaking the law rather than observing someone breaking the law then we all lose. As others have stated, where does it stop? Should the police be able to search your home, devices, or person just to see if you've done something wrong? The answer is always no.

Troll because I believe in safer roadways? So just how far does your liberty go? I'm guessing you don't support the seatbelt law either right? Believe people should be required to have driver's license?

Minimum speed limit in the South is 40. So no ticket for 55.
Joan Rivers in California never drove over 35 MPH on the highway.

Not true. You can still be cited, depending on the circumstances and how the officer feels that day. Impeding the flow of traffic is one example.

45
And try that shite in a metro city and you are getting a ticket unless you are a blue hair.

Can't here. Posted min is 40 plus traffic isn't bad here so I'm not causing any issues. Other than the factory workers running late their aren't too many people speeding that time of the morning anyway.
It won't be too far into the future that none of this will matter anyway. Autonomous cars with all vehicles being tracked by GPS is not that far away.

Never going to happen
I'm 45 and I'm not going to be that kind of subject.

Where is "here?"
I suspect you're incorrect for the reasons above, but I won't make that claim without knowing which laws apply to you.

I hear this a lot. This isn't going to happen in our lifetimes, or likely ever.

Im 45 as well. Its going to happen. The Governor's Highway Safety Associations annual conference is in Kentucky this Sept. If you want to see what's coming and what technology is available it will be there. I fully expect there will be some prototypes and discussions on texting and driving. I try to make it every other year but with it being so close I expect I'll still get by for a day or two. There will also be people from all the major manufacturers to discuss safety improvements, autonomous vehicles, etc.
