Yahoo had one earlier today along the lines of "Trump reaches historic new low in approval ratings". I googled it and found dozens of different polls with the same headline dating back to a week before the inauguration.

The point is not the polls. It's the purpose. What does the media hope to achieve by these daily headlines about how much everyone really hates Trump?

Possibilities:

a. Trump will be intimidated and moderate his actions? Uh, nope. Not gonna happen with this guy.

b. The public will realize what a horrible mistake they've made? Nope, they don't get to vote for 2 more years and Trump is not on the ballot.

I'm going with..

c. The Republicans in the House and Senate. IE, "you better fight Trump or everyone is gonna hate you just like they hate Trump."

Will it work? Thoughts?

Trying to erode support from those that voted for him. There is a part of the electorate that like to be with the winning side. If they can move the needle just 3% in each state, he will not be the next president. Rules for radicals, always be on the attack.

You can always just read the Rasmussen polls and put those unpleasant fake ones out of sight and out of mind.

Yeah, but young people don't have the attention span of a gerbil. How can the left shoot for a goal that can't be achieved for 4 years? The only effect that can be achieved right now is to make the GOP Congress get wobbly in the knees. If you peel of a dozen 'Lindsey Grahams' you can stop legislation.

I want to know where they are conducting these polls. I've never once been a part of one.

If I did a poll of my Facebook Trump would be getting great numbers.

Most of the R's in Washington don't have the balls/backbone to follow Trump's lead. They cannot stand to be attacked by the media and portrayed as the "bad guys". I guarantee a bunch of R's that don't fall in line with Trump will NOT be re-elected in 2 years.

If only there were an easy way to research how polls are conducted....

I am thinking they are still using the same polling that predicted Hillary would win...

The same polls that gave Hillary a 90+% chance to win the election? Those polls?

And they are always so accurate right?

You don't have to be an arse, I was just pointing out that polls aren't exactly perfect.

The NWO conspiracy is real. Soros seeking the destruction of the West is real. There are more like him, and they are evil and in control of our media.

You folks are still missing the point. I'm not indicting the polls. This is media critique. The MSM is going nuts with polls just after an election is over and polls don't matter. So, what is their objective?

He's 4 years away from an election. Why would approval ratings even matter right now?

Polls don't give predictions. The prediction markets are based upon polling among other factors. Given the number of undecided in the final polls, they weren't too horribly off. They underestimated Hillary's support by about 2.7% and the President's by about 3.9. Again, hard to call that very "inaccurate" when there were anhigh number of undecideds and two third party contenders in the mix.

They think they can still lie and keep the majority of the public believing their lies.
