The US Senate just left Washington DC going home for their August break, Jesus Christ!

Mitch McConnell should change the closure system in the Senate with a new agreement to have a simple up and down vote.

The Majority rules 51 to 50

Mitch McConnell is the part of the deadlock problem impeding this country's US Government ability to get what we need to be done.

Mitch McConnell has become dated and is not useful to the American people as the Majority leader anymore.

The Corruption in this US Senate must stop now. I am going to vote for a candidate without a political party affiliation. And hope that the American people elect a wholesale bunch of new Americans citizens to keep running this country's Three Branches Of Government. We now want different people running our country's US Government.

I agree but his work on the open SCOTUS seat was golden

The whole fail was basically the fault of TWO WOMEN in the Senate. One will likely go down, as Alaska's pain increases...the other, who knows.

Yeah, majority rule...while they have the chance to change things in big way.

Mitch mccock is a disgrace. Anybody who doesn't think the dems won't change the rules when they get the White House, senate and house is a fool. The GOPe doesn't want trump to get anything passed

Mitch McConnell might be the best senate majority leader ever. His recent defeat on healthcare was basically the first major defeat of his career. He rules the senate with an almost iron fist. He's a political tactician and if he recessed, it's because it was the GOPs advantage to do so. They are a boxer on the ropes and they need to get to corner ASAP.

Learn your shite before you post this non-sense. You will weep for the days we had McConnell when he is gone

Don't know when he is up for reelection. If I recall, he barely won his last election primary from a republican challenger. Unfortunately even if he gets defeated, he will end up as a lobbyist and make even more money in DC. All politicians are an incestuous little club...

I swear you people are so short sighted its pathetic. If Reid were in charge would you be advocating for this? Of course not!
Never take power you wouldn't want the opposition to have - because at some point, they WILL have it. That's the cycle of American politics.

People on this board are so blinded and ignorant they think Republicans will never lose control of the presidency, house, and senate again.

Just like Democrats after Obama was elected in 08.....

I would love for Trump to try to make all two or three hundred of his appointments that are being ignored in the senate recess appointments as soon as they close up shop just to make the left lose their ever loving minds.

No. You guys are starting to sound like democrats for the last 8 years. Here's a simple test. If you can stand the opposite party having the same level of power as you're wanting to give the current administration......then so be it. Otherwise, let it be.

There's no power that you'll be able to give the senate during this term and then take it away when the other guys want it.

Mitch McCuck needs to be replaced. I like what he did for the SCOTUS seat, but he needs to be taken out to pasture. Put either Tom Cotton or Joni Ernst as Majority Leader, i.e. someone that isn't a living fossil and is actually gonna do stuff.

He tied up Barak Obama's Presidency in knots. There is no way that BO should have accomplished so little with the majority he had coming in. And his congressional block was 100 time more in line than the current GOP.
