Milton's son David was giving a speech on the ethics of indentured servitude, I'm sure he'd be called a racist for giving that speech today.
Fun fact: David is staunchly anti-Trump, considered Hillary the lesser evil, and advocated a Gary Johnson vote LINK

None of the people I see in the libertarian movement today would push back against against the mainstream narrative the way Friedman did.

I wish Triple H was more vocal, but Cantwell and Molyneux are pretty effective, especially Molyneux

lso socialism/communism was the biggest threat in the past where as now it is cultural marxism/relativism. Milo does not compare with Friedman's intellect and ideas, but he is effectively attacking the worst current threat to the west.

God bless that ****.

Milo is a symptom of us having already lost to cultural marxism/relativism. You just don't see it yet.

I actually prefer Friedman to the Austrian school although I have not read enough of either.

I am an impericist and I think private fiat/crypto is more effective than the gold standard.

I believe deflationary spiral theory has validity.

Are Austrians limited to the gold standard? I follow the Austrians and you won't find a more outspoken Bitcoin proponent on this site (RIP Wiki)

If I understand you correctly you are concerned with moral decay/hedonism.

This is a problem, but not to the extent of relativism.

When the left explains every inequality of outcome for different groups as oppression by the more successful group, we devolve into won/lose identity politics rather than ideological politics.

This will ruin western democracy.

Like I said, I haven't read enough Mises & Rothbard and bitcoin wasn't around, obviously, so we can't know for sure, but the Austrians were extremely sceptical of fiat and believed money needed "intrinsic value."

I believe gold is a good currency because of its properties (fungible, divisible, finite, etc.) not because it has its own value as a commodity (jewelry, gold plated electrical connectors, etc.)

This belief is more Chicago school.

Friedman wanted to keep the USD fiat and just print money at some set rate and fire the central bankers. The Austrians would not have agreed with that.

I think we should cut out the banks, nationalize the dollar, and print money and send to taxpayers as a refund to keep inflation at 2% and use as a tool against foreign currency manipulation.

Basically, I don't mind fiat, and love bitcoin.

There have been plenty of Austrian arguments in favor of bitcoin. I'm talking a ton.

Ok, I may be misrepresenting then.

There is not much I disagree with the Austrians on. Maybe even less than I thought.
