The inconvenient truth behind Milo's comments

Everyone is quick to label what Milo said "support for pedophilia", but from what I have heard, it is exactly what goes on in the gay community. I had a close friend and apartment mate in college who came out of the closet after a year of living with me and a few others and he hailed from a very conservative area with religious parents. While he wasn't a "boy" by any means, he frequently hung out with many much older, richer, and in many cases, powerful men. It was quite obvious what was going on behind the scenes, and because it was all so strange to us, he relayed to me and my other friends that older gay men like having younger men around and one of the comments that was made (seemingly in jest to a straight person) was "the younger the better". The whole situation gave off a very strange and uncomfortable vibe, but this is a fact of life in the gay community, and the media is just upset that Milo has aired this dirty laundry. It's interesting how the media and the left pushes accept of the LGBT agenda, but has become completely blood thirsty now that this inconvenient truth has been made public.

I agree with this mostly - Milo was a victim of a life-changing and heinous act. He's being punished for it again now 20 years later.

Exactly. In fact, many younger gay men look to older gay men for companionship and acceptance because in the past, many didn't have the support from their family. Unfortunately, many older gay men seemingly took advantage of the situation. Milo was spot on.

What bothers me is the continued failure to use the term "pedophile" correctly, both on this board and in the media.

I mentioned in the other thread that I had typed up and deleted a response twice. This is what I was alluding to. I've witnessed this first hand with a regular table I used to wait on at an old job. In this instance, there were four much older gay men and 1 sometimes 2 very young looking teenage boys. The one that was always with them was definitely their pet/ toy or whatever you want to call him. They were pretty open about it. They got what they wanted and in return he was taken care of. Depraved? No doubt, but not pedophilia.

That words have meanings and should be used correctly because it matters.
If 17 year old Johnny sleeps with a 14 year old, he's technically a sex criminal just as if he were a pefophila who had sex with an 8 year old. You would only incorrectly call him a pedophile however if you were A, ignorant or B, trying to cast his act in a far darker light.

Not defending either. I watched the vid and even Rogan was wtf, but let's call it fair. It'll also be interesting to see if anybody connects some pretty easy dots to find the priest, or if they're just happy with the Milo takedown.

It's true. I can't name names, but when I was a senior at Jesuit I partied with the parish president and recruited friends for him.

I think a 25 year old who is attracted to a physically mature 16 year old is on a different level than a 25 year old who is physically attracted to a 7 year old. I don't disagree with the laws either has broken, but one is definitely not like the other.
That poster may just prefer precise language.
