Because 'Gay marriage' is a fad that will never stand the test of centuries.

Same sex marriage predates religion.

How about we just do what the constitution says and refrain from preventing citizens from signing a contract in a way that violates due process? All 50 states have ratified the 14th amendment. Shouldn't they actually do what it says?

They may appear "assbackwards" to you because you have your head screwed on backwards.

Other people's benign sexuality is very important to you.

My right to express my own personal opinion even if it offends you is very important to me.

My father is agnostic and opposes gay marriage because he thinks it will degrade the importance of the nuclear family. He is in his seventies so I cut him some slack. There are many though that think like him. Its not just religious folks.

Nobody is talking about that, narcissist. You keep making it about you.

You are obsessed with homosexuality.

Yes it does, and there is nothing you'll ever do to change it. It is irrelevant, though; the idea that it is a passing fad is absurd. There have been same sex unions longer than there have been church-sanctioned unions (speaking of a passing fad).

No. It doesn't. You saying "yes it does" doesn't change that.

Non-point. Same sex unions are as old as marriage itself. Marriage predates religion; this is common knowledge. You are free to research the topic if you please. Wayne Dynes' book Homosexuality in the Ancient World is a good start, if you care to learn. The idea that same sex marriage is a passing fad is absurd; religion and religious unions are way closer to "passing fad" status; both are far more recent traditions than same sex unions.

The ignorant, backward fight you are fighting has been lost. It's over. Let it go. Let's just do what the Constitution says and be grownups and not concern ourselves over what other men do with their private parts.

He is thoughtful but I think that heterosexual couples divorcing at the rate of 50% are doing more to damage to the concept of marriage than gay activist.
