France's election has little bearing on our own. The idiots are those conservatives that thought that because our electoral system in the US allowed a minority of voters to overrule the will of the people by electing Trump, that that had any bearing on France's election where they have a superior electoral system and the will of the people was far more united against the idiotic, xenophobic, Russian puppet candidate.

Boy you really lost it at the end there.

So you don't bother to spend a few minutes to researching just the basic policy tenants, but you'll spend significantly more time than that confidently discussing those same policies, even going as far as insulting others who did research it?

Name one fact that I have proclaimed as fake? Anything that has been confirmed by multiple news sources, but I have questioned the legitimacy.

Do you guys not realize how bad Le Pen's economic policies would be? Immigration, she is right. However, her economics are anything but far-right or conservative.

It's legit alright. he French system basically is rigged in keeping either the Socialsts or the Gaullists in power. Macron was a member of Hollande's cabinet and he is also a former investment banker with the Rothschild Bank. He's a hybrid creation by the ruling power structure . They knew the electorate hated Hollande and the "conservative" candidate was lacking. They also correctly understood that Le Pen could not garner more than 30-35% of the nationwide vote.

The only way LePen could have won is if she had delivered a knock out blow in the first round a few weeks ago in the first round. Le Pen has the countryside and the industrial East of the county. The socialists and Gaullists have the big cities like Paris and Lyon and Marseilles

Why say bullshite like this when it's so easy to disprove?

The FN has their regional power base in Le Pen's homeland and they now have some sway in the northeast thanks to Marine absorbing the old Communist Party. They have no power anywhere else, but they do the worst in places with any sort of ethno-nationalist base (Basque Country, Brittany, etc.) and in well-to-do cities.

I know it is de rigeur(throw in some French lingo) to dog out the French and see them as surrender monkeys. My experience with them is the direct opposite. I've dealt with a few French military guys and they are tough, tough dudes.

Read up on your history especially some of the shite the French Army put up with in WWI and the things the French resistance did in WWII....it will change your assessment. If you really want to see how tough the French can be read about what the French Army as well as the Pieds Noir did in Algeria in the 1950's and early 1960's

The French have a different way of looking at things based on their experiences in what I just mentioned as well as the problem of not enough natural resources.

Where's the bullshite? your map proves my point. she had a lot of support in the east of the country like I said and she gets support in a lot of the little towns and hamlets in the countryside.

She was never going to win the Western part nor the big cities. If you've ever spent time in France the areas east of Paris are considered the eastern part of the country...places like Nancy, Strasbourg and Reims anything South of Cote d' Or is considered the South of France or the Alps.

Actually I'm surprised she did as well outside of Marseilles as she did
