So with absolutely no real information , the board decides how awful it is.
Maybe it is but we sure won't figure it out here.

The brewery can't even legally sell the beer direct to the consumer due to state and local laws.
That's ok though.

Ah, just keep licking the hand that feeds you and STFU.

Who is feeding me exactly?

The way you suck up to the government I figure you have to be relying on it in some way for your livelihood.
Seems I remember you claim to be a military officer?

Former officer.
Small minds like to think everyone who doesn't think like them is on welfare. Apparently.

LOL, you're so predictable.
This country was founded on a healthy skepticism of government and the motives of the people running it.
You apparently think the government can do no wrong, that it is kind and benevolent and we just don't appreciate it enough.
Like I said, just keep licking the hand that feeds you, you're no good for anything else.

The sheer stupidity of the government never ceases to amaze.

I would bet this is where the pressure is coming from, Big Ag.
Them or the big three brewers. This regulation would make it even harder to successfully run a microbrewery.

Oh, the irony.
You blindly defend the government every single time, with no real information.
If you can point to actual harm that has occurred as the result of this practice, and how it would be prevented in the future by this regulation, please point us in that direction. Otherwise, we should assume it's bad policy.

Well, to be fair, if it's a regulation there's a fairly good chance it was put into place at the request of lobbyists to benefit big business, and to prevent competition from smaller business. Such is generally the way of things.

I would feel pretty comfortable saying that the larger beer companies wouldn't be fans of this either. It's from those plants that the majority of the brewers grains come from. Small microbreweries often don't produce enough to make it worth even trying to sell. As far as the safety of the byproduct its been fed for many years and there is a lot of peer reviewed research showing the effects of feeding it both on performance and the rumen profile. Due to the high water content (~80%) cattle can't even physically eat enough to cause serious problems.
What all this excessive reach by the FDA stems from is what they feel called to do by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Several years ago when contaminated cantaloupes resulted in consumer deaths this was all put into action n Congress. Par for the course FDA has taken it much farther past what was intended and into areas they have no clue about.
If they don't change the proposed rule after the comment period look for Congress to take action either by law or the approps process. I think there will be far too much opposition to how FDA is proposing regulating byproducts for it to stay as is.

FDA= FUCKING DUMB ASSES
This is quite possibly one of the dumbest proposals that I have ever been exposed to by government.
Beer is Expensive Enough Already
