It's in the history books. The more immoral and corrupt we get the closer the end gets.

People have been predicted the US would collapse every day and twice on Sunday since the country started. We made it through two World Wars, a Civil War, numerous depressions, Jimmy Carter, the creation of Reality TV, and the Transformers movies without splintering into 40 different little countries so far.

We will make it through Obama and eventually the economy will turn around. When the end happens it won't be for a good long time. Barring atomic war, Yellowstone erupting, or a giant asteroid stopping by to say hello.

Tell me what you think the necessary prerequisites are for the formation and continuation of a stable nation-state. Tell me what we're missing,or losing, or stand to lose. There's your answer.

For the record, we're as stable as any nation in the world right now.

A world economic collapse that makes the great depression look like a cake walk.

Or aliens from space wanting our women.

Not as long as the military is as dominant as it is.

Although, that is getting chipped away too slowly.

1 - Pay your bills and live within your means
2 - "all men are created equal" - no person deserves more protection under the law than another
3 - obey and enforce immigration laws
4 - mind your own business
5 - only go to war when you're goal is to annihilate/eradicate the enemy
6 - issue voter ID cards to every LEGAL US citizen & if you don't have it at the polls, no votie

Agree but stable is a subjective word

Even if you have a long history of abusing/injuring/harming/degrading a particular subset of the population?

A subset?

No one can change the past and there shouldn't be mass guilt over it by people that didn't abuse/injure/harm/degrade anyone for those that claim they're entitled to something because it happened to someone else.

i.e, just because my grandfather got shafted doesn't mean I should get free shite or automatically go to the front of the line.

the new culture about getting all riled up over stuff that is mostly outside of individuals control and the every growing "apathy" towards the little things they can. It's a societal problem were facing, and it ain't going in the right direction

Most likely, resulting in an internal civil war (and likely along racial lines).
