The DW spends almost $120K per month boosting Little Ben's posts on FB.

I guess I give a shite because as I noted in the OP this information is surprising to me. I thought Ben's opinions were popular enough to self promote instead of forced boosting.

Daily Wire.

Ben Shapiro.

ETA: I guess Ben does need advertising...as this post is self-evident.

Do you not know how modern marketing works? Every company does this that has competent marketing strategies. Why do you think big tech is so profitable?

Yes. I just did not know that you can pay to have your Face Book posts boosted.

I just read this one:

quote:

To put things into perspective, approximately $365 billion was spent on advertising in America during the first half of 2023—I tried to calculate the total for the entire year, but alas, I couldn’t find reliable data to do so. In any event, that amounts to hundreds of billions of dollars spent on manipulating human consciousness in a matter of six months.

In Twitter 1.0-land, the Krassenstein Bros did it by buying a metric shite ton of bot followers to boost impressions and trick the algorithm.

Is this just more "never trumper" witch hunting again?

Weeding out the disloyal?

I remember listening to Finebaum on the drive home about 10 years ago and one of Finebaum guests proclaimed the had over 10 million Twitter followers (IIRC). I can't even remember his name and he was barely known in SEC sports circles. Subsequent callers called in and explained to Finebaum that all those twitter followers were bots. That's when I first heard of the twitter bot thing.
