Schiff is a crybaby.

The Daily Show did not lie.

He clearly said stupid things.

Here's the actual clip...it's not a hit job. Schiff really believes this stupid stuff.

LINK

1.He claimed it was hypothetical that there could be a 48 year old man with a college degree working for minumum wage. Then Samantha Bee found one. Hey, when I graduated from college, all I could get for a long time was minumum wage jobs that paid less than the part time jobs I worked during college.

2. He falsely claimed raising minumum wage hurts the economy. Samantha Bee then interviewed an expert who mentioned all the studies that show it does not.

3. He said it was ok to pay "mentally retarded" people $2 an hour.

I have no patience for shmucks like Schiff. If I met him in person, I have to kick his arse for the hell of it.

Where did she find this loser? Anyone that is 46 with a college degree earning minimum wage has a fricked up back story, more than the one I'm sure he provided in the snippet.

What did you get your degree in?

You can find an expert that will contradict anything someone else says - especially in economics.

Why should we pay a retarded person $10/hr for wiping down McDonald's trays? The job is charity.

Schiff was shocked when he saw the finished product. “They took little pieces and rearranged them, all designed to make me look bad,” he added with an unmistakable hint of betrayal.
I saw the clip and the first 30 minutes of his "response." Peter Schiff is an oversensitive weenie. They a) didn't really make him look all that bad and b) didn't mess up any context with their edits. They never had him give an answer following a clip of a different question.

He adds that he and his brother have requested that The Daily Show release the entire four-hour interview, though they are not holding out much hope that this will occur.
A four hour interview on the minimum wage? Yeah, that would get like 3 hits.

Umm, yes they did. You should have heard him explain that in his response video.

Where was that? Minute 55? Sorry, couldn't take more after the first 30 where he was complaining about every little thing like someone who has never been on TV or quoted in the news before.

Really, the guy was complaining about how they only showed 20 seconds of his 10 minute speech on supply and demand.

I only watched maybe the first 30 minutes too. You weren't paying attention apparently.

I think we need a compromise where the minimum wage is raised to a living wage and welfare is cut to shreds.

It's more than ok. It's a really good idea.

The min wage set above $10 is just above the current poverty line. If the min wage was running on inflation since first enacted then you would see prices at $10.60.

This was from Sen. Harkin on Morning Joe today. Not sure if accurate or not?

It's insane when the people who are for forcibly making people give money to others are the ones trying to take the moral high ground. It's even more insane how many people agree and follow along.

Did Peter Schiff really think that only a contiguous clip would be used from his 4 hour long interview, even though the segment is only like 5 minutes long?

You have no clue how much govt assistance that person and their family will receive for the rest of their lives do you?

The fact that he couldn't find or doesn't know another term for "mentally retarded" reveals just how out of touch he is with common folks. It's not a complete lack of awareness because he was searching for another term, but he looked like a douche. I say this while actually respecting a lot of what Schiff says.

I earned a BA in psychology which I realized was a mistake. Didn't train me to do anything except how to write a research paper. But what did I know, I was 21.

It is a fact not an opinion that raising minimum wage is good for the economy. There is no evidence that it increases the unemployment rate as Schiff falsely claims.

Giving a job to a mentally handicapped person is not charity. Businesses are out to make money and they wouldn't hire someone who was incapable of providing value to their company. A mentally handicapped person who does a good job should get paid a fair wage. My wife's cousin is mentally handicapped. He is the best housekeeper I have ever seen. He kept his mother's house (before she died) amazingly immaculate.

You are a atupid a-hole for saying a mentally handicapped person is worth $2 an hour. You simply do not know what you are talking about.

What? Common folks are much more likely to refer to it as mental retardation than they are as intellectually disabled.
