Yea but that assumes the other side will chase. Nobody will chase us. They're done. This is two climate agreements we've backed out on now.

Yeah just like if I really wanted to buy that car I wouldn't have left the dealership when the salesman wasn't budging...then they called 45 minutes later agreeing to it.

So we can reinvest that $100B into America instead of other countries. Sounds like a win to me.

can you take a shot at this question, posted earlier in another thread.
sure

Can someone please explain how borrowing money from China to give to China somehow helps with climate change and does anything other than finance the globalist agenda on the backs of future generations of Americans?
If someone can give a reasonable response it would be appreciated.
We could make our own rules within the deal, no? I don't think we had to give China anything.
I'm fine with not liking the current deal set forth by Obama, but my whole contention is that it would have been better to try and negotiate at the table, rather than leave altogether.

Dude, they are done negotiating with us. This isn't the first time we've walked off the lot, bro.

They will want the money again. You know. I know it. We all know it.
They are stamping their feet now like all good liberals. It'll be OK.

But nobody is going to negotiate another deal, so it's basically an empty sound bite.
No - the original deal was the empty sound byte. Obama got to strut on the world stage and engender the idiotic opinion that he had 'done something' to ensure the survival of the planet.
Where all he had done was join in with the rest of the welfare-dependent world in singing 'kumbaya.'

The EU is the second biggest marketplace in the world, and they are now talking about cutting off trade talks with us.
Sweet.

Dude bro, if it's a shitty deal in the first place, who cares?

Step away from the ledge sweetie pie, we are their largest market, there is a less than zero % chance they want to disrupt trade with the US.
Germany would enter a catastrophic recession if they lost access to the US market, the rest of the EU is not far behind.

There is no 'climate deal' without the USA footing the bill.
It's all about the money goober.

how is a deal in which we make our own rules so shitty?

He's being disingenuous. Nobody is willing to renegotiate with us. You can't negotiate by yourself.
Which is why he pulled out.

Because we can make our own rules without paying $100b to other countries for nothing.

did we have to pay that $100B? Could Trump have changed that?

100 Billion per year has to come from somewhere.
What about money?
Money has been a sticking point throughout the negotiations.
Developing countries say they need financial and technological help to leapfrog fossil fuels and move straight to renewables.
Currently they have been promised US $100bn (£67bn) a year by 2020 - not as much as many countries would like.
The agreement requires rich nations to maintain a $100bn a year funding pledge beyond 2020, and to use that figure as a "floor" for further support agreed by 2025.
The deal says wealthy countries should continue to provide financial support for poor nations to cope with climate change and encourages other countries to join in on a voluntary basis.

Then they lose. They wanted our money. That is all the rest of the world wants.
See the discussion on NATO (Or the UN, I can't remember) where one country who was not paying their share, said the US should be paying over half the expenses.
