You probably don't realize it but 2010 census information wasn't released until December of 2010, and states didn't begin redistricting until mid 2011 into 2012.
In the 2010 midterm election, which took place in November of 2010, Republicans gained over 720 legislative seats, along with 6 seats in the Senate and an additional 63 in the House. Plus 6 governorships.
So almost 800 of 1,030 gains during Obama's tenure took place before your gerrymandering boogeyman even happened.

The democrats nailed the box closed on moderates and Bernie's popularity shows us the party will indeed struggle to dismiss the extreme radical left, therefore they will continue to lose.

Can you be a little explicit in how Obama has destroyed the Democratic Party? Do youhave anything to legitimately back this up with. Hell the Democrats picked up seats in both the House and the Senate, first time this has EVER happened when the top of the ticket lost. It's logical that the GOP would have more governorships, etc. due to demographics and concentration of Dems in the urban centers/ more populous states. I mean the GOP convinced less than 50,000 dems (assuming they were all Dems) to vote for Trump vs. Hillary in three midwestern states which gave him the White HOuse. Fact of the matter if the Dems had shown up in the neighborhood of their 2012 numbers Trump would have lost handily. Y'all act like this was some kind of tsunami when in reality it's the furthest thing from it. Keep up with the smugness though and stay ignorant of the precarious position your in .
