(CNN) -- A health care worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas has tested positive for Ebola after a preliminary test, the state's health agency said. Confirmatory testing will be conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The employee helped care for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person ever diagnosed with Ebola in the United States. Duncan died Wednesday.

Not surprising since during the initial visit precautions weren't taken when the patient was obviously a foreigner(thick accent) who admitted he just came from West Africa.

Despite these facts he was sent home so I'm sure the staff didn't feel the need to take extra precaution during his 1st visit.

I think it was the family who actually called the CDC because the hospital didn't seem to take his condition too seriously

CDC says not to worry so I guess I'd better start.

Thomas Duncan never would've been here if Obama had taken the necessary steps to restrict air travel for people with passports from countries experiencing an epidemic of the Ebola virus.

But by all means, sugar, continue to make excuses for your boy.

Reports are also saying the worker was wearing full CDC protective gear while treating Duncan. And with all that, the CDC still says that we should not worry over the fact that someone in full protective gear contracted the disease. Seems pretty unsettling to me.

I've been thinking all along something seems off about this strain. My suspicions are slowly being confirmed.

I thought this was supposed to be really hard to contract. If he/she was protected, how in the world did they get it?

As I've said from the beginning the "hard to contract" meme is politically motivated BS.

Frankly, it is nothing short of a miracle we've only had one additional case so far.

I can't help it that I'm in your head & you put so much time of your life responding to me.

I have already acknowledged this after seeing the CNN report this morning .

Protocol error on workers part.

I don't really even know who you are.
I do know what you've posted.
Let's see:

You claim to realize your "understanding" was erroneous, yet you chose to leave your erroneous information in place.
That changes you from one who is simply mistaken, to one who is a dumbass.

You probably ought not jump to further speculative conclusions. Hopefully we will discover how the worker contracted the disease. A breach in protocol is more likely than not. However, the protocol itself and/or equipment used could be at fault.

Because it has been spreading like wildfire in the US.

Its very interesting how even Ebola has become a political issue. Every progressive out there seems to be on the "there's nothing to worry about" bandwagon and while conservatives are the opposite.

Exactly. I put this in the other thread but I'll put it here as well.

There have been more cases of the Plague in the US this year than Ebola. And that spreads much easier than Ebola.

I'd love to hear you try and intelligently articulate this in depth. It would amuse me.
