How does any sane person, look at the money that is taken out of their pay check, and say "yep that's what we need, more taxes"? I take a look at every paycheck and just shake my head.

Yet I always see democrats saying we need to be taxed more and more. I don't see how any reasonable person could defend that position. What has giving more money to the government gotten us?

I really would like to hear a staunch fiscal progressives take on this.

I mean I'm young and don't even make all that much money yet and I still think it's insane.

Take a look at the % tax rate you're subject to and that of working class people... then look at the 1% and realize that you actually pay a higher % than the wealthy do.

I just want to pay 10% for every thing. State and federal combine. If America can't make it off my 10% frick it. I mean I am not getting my money's worth at the amount I am paying in taxes. Roads are shitty, DMV shitty, constantly gotta renew my fishing license every year speeding tickets I mean it just doesn't stop. The amount I am paying the state I should be able to fish for free and keep as much fish as I feel like cleaning.

You can double that and I'd never bitch about taxation again.

Is working class 50-75K? Because I'm in that bracket and I'm saying that taxes need to go down for everyone. That includes the 1% bogeyman

The flat tax seems to be the best way to go, but for whatever reason people view that to be too extreme.

A consumption tax I think would be more beneficial as well. Regardless I feel like we're in the worst system possible short of full on socialism/communism.

Much of it is redistribution of wealth to dim voters.

Okay well I'm not married and don't have kids.

But this money would 100% be better off in people's pockets where they can decide what to do with it. And that goes for all income brackets.

I don't know why that's so crazy to many progressives. And I'm not saying you are a progressive, I'm just replying to your comment.

C's want more money in their own pockets to determine how best to help others and themselves.

L's want more money in Uncle Sam's pockets so that the government can determine how best to help others and themselves.

get married and buy a house.

to have a 33% effective tax rate you'd have to make over half a million dollars last year, be single and not own a house.

you're lying my friend it would be helpful if you actually knew how things worked.

Not even close. The middle class consume more than anyone so they will be taxed higher. Rich people can only buy so much shite.
