Taking rights away from people has never made society better, agree or disagree?

I’m curious on how this board feels.
The premise is simple. Giving people less rights is always bad, even if those rights sometimes lead to people doing bad things, overall less rights = worse society
ETA: The responses to this are very specific, I’m asking a general question not specific to any right or privilege.

Rights don't involve ending the life of another entity.

What rights were taken away?

First we would have to know whether you think murder should be a right

You are right in general.
If you think people lost rights today, you are a moron.

Health services are rights?

We are lucky that no rights were taken away
Plus SCOTUS gave back some 2nd amendment rights this week

Your rights stop when it infringes on the rights of another human being. That’s the crux of the abortion debate.

You people can still kill tiny humans. Relax.

Rights were given. Not taken away.
The Right to choose was given back to the states.

You mean like a man not having the right to bring up HIS child because some bitch got an abortion?
Posted on 6/24/22 at 11:00 pm to Tiger1242
People used to have the right to enslave other humans. You can’t compare immoral rights given by law that are antithetical to man’s natural rights as a basis for what “rights” are

I bet most of these folks crying about the reversal of RvW were all-in for mask mandates and forced vaccinations and view Anthony Fauci as some demigod.

What about the rights of someone who can't speak for themselves?
Posted on 6/24/22 at 11:02 pm to Tiger1242
Taking away the right to own slaves was a pretty good move
Posted on 6/24/22 at 11:03 pm to Tiger1242
What rights where taken away? I am really curious
Posted on 6/24/22 at 11:04 pm to Tiger1242
Wow these responses are insane. I asked a simple questions about whether taking righths away from people is good or bad and all of you are warping my question into something to get defensive about.

It is your responsibility to communicate what you want to say, so do it.
