The sad thing is, Trump is most anti-war president we have had since Jimmy Carter.

But they don't see it. The odds of Hillary getting us in a war are 100 times greater.

I remember when Tommy Friedman was cheerleading W on the invasion of Iraq. Good times.

They are actually becoming caricatures of themselves. You couldn't do a comedy skit that is any more entertaining and hilarious than just allowing these people to speak candidly.

Yes they do but they have a narrative to report. Their target audience is too stupid to see it though.

It is laughable. We have had warharks in office for the past 3 decades. But Trump is who we need to worry about.

Really? Are we fighting the Syrians?

I don't like that we sent troops, but a few regiments who can't sustain themselves for more than a month are different than setting up shop and waging war on the Syrian government.

I could place all of the NYT columnists on a scale of alarmist writing style.

On axis 'A' would be: 'My word; Tsk, Tsk, Bad show, What's this?'

On axis 'B' would be: 'OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! ...TOMORROW MORNING!

Friedman is the anchor man on axis 'B'.

The anchor of axis 'A' is David Brooks.

You should google the term "mission creep." 100% that happens here.

This is an excellent point.

How fair would it be for me to say: To be fair, the last time Congress authorized a military engagement under a Commander-in-Chief who was a Democrat was 42 years ago.

Assad called them "invaders" and USNWR said that we're not cooperating with the Russians.

I would hardly characterize that as an invasion, but serious question, do you REALLY believe we wouldn't have done so had Clinton won?

Like it or not, to defeat ISIS this was a necessary step regardless of who is President. If you merely wanted to try to contain them, as Obama tried to do, then no it wasn't' but to defeat them, we have to go in and defeat them.

The thing that befuddles me is our military brass never learns from history- even our own.

Syria has Vietnam written all over it.
