No problem.

You see...I have been around many that would fit this description, and some that would not (hence, the "by and large" qualifier).

I was simply gauging the board's own experiences and asking its opinion. It appears that a large group has had the same experience.

Interestingly, even you in your umbrage did not answer the question posed.

They draw their happiness from a fabricated sense of being bitter.

They're pathetically amusing.

You know the reason we have feminist? Women generally hate each other so they naturally isolate themselves in society. Men on the other hand are generally team players. Men generally don't worry about petty shite and naturally want to be led as a team. I believe it stems from a hunter/gatherer evolutionary thing.

They are inferior in IQ distribution. That is, although males and females average the same IQ the range is much greater among males. IE, there are many more male geniuses and many more male idiots.

The prevalence of more males at the high end explains why most great achievements in science, medicine, engineering, economics, etc are made by males.

OTOH, the prevalence of more males at the low end partially explains why most criminals are males.

I'm guessing this board thinks sexism is over the same way they think racism is over, which is to say it is "over" for the southern conservative male.

It depends on how you define racism and sexism.
Does saying whites have higher IQs than blacks = racism?
Does saying men are stronger than women = sexism?

Define sexism as you believe it to be.

figure it out yourself.

It's not hard, all you have to do is pay attention.

I have a few feminist friends. A couple are bat shite crazy radical feminists, but I don't talk to them any more so I no longer refer to them as friends.

I have been told that I hate women because I don't agree that consensual sex is rape and that I don't believe in special privlidge. I don't believe that getting in a non physical argument with your SO is domestic violence. I don't believe that getting drunk and having consensual sex is rape, it's regret. I think that women that falsely accuse men of rape should be punished.

My 2 friends that are normal feminists aren't bad. They know not to start preaching to me because I will tell them to STFU. Their definition of equality and my definition of equality are very different. I believe in gender roles. Their preaching will not change that. Maybe it's because I'm the only girl out of 3 children, idk. I grew up in a 2 parent home where me and mom cooked every day and the boys did yard work and took out the trash. I'm not saying that everyone should conform to those roles...to each their own, I guess.

I stopped talking to the radical ones, completely. They want male oppression, not equality. It would really piss them off when I would tell them that there are things that men can do that women can't. For the most part, and there are always exceptions, men are physically stronger than women. I'm not above admitting that I'm a woosy girl and I need men to carry heavy shite for me. And I appreciate it when guys open doors for me. I love being treated like a lady and I dress feminine for me. They hate it and I don't understand why. They are just as entitled to their opinions as I am to mine.

There is a lot of truth to this.

10 years ago I was having a discussion with a female lawyer friend. I asked her "All things being equal, would you rather present your case to a male or female judge?"

She: "A male."
Me: "Why"
She: "Because female judges tend to interject their own opinions and biases into the case instead of just looking at the facts."

Fast forward to right now. The Pistorious case is a great example of a female judge injecting her own opinion instead of looking at the cold hard facts. I read today that she is now being hit with death threats and is under heavy security in her home.

She must call police on her cell phone once per hour to verify that she is OK.

Most women, and I stress most (don't want to be accused of making generalizations), do things based on feelings first. Most women run on emotions. Women aren't wired the same as men. We just aren't.

Take the anger that some crazy radical feminists show. Do you think they aren't bias or running on angry emotions? Do you think they look at things from a rational angle and consider both sides before they start spewing their shite?

Please post examples of sexism and oppression that women are currently struggling against.

Thanks.

They have to live with the horrible fact that when they go out in public, men will hold the door for them.

I'm interested in this as well.

Maybe I live in a bubble, but I've never felt oppressed.

Oh the horror!!!!

In fact, the women that bitch about this are the ones that are ruining it for the rest of us. Like I said earlier, I love being treated like a lady. Anyone who gets offended over a nice gesture has issues.
