Nope. That’s what this is all about. Convince people to give up their rights. Even if this, and many of these events, are not manufactured- the way the propaganda machine covers it, is. The answer is not less guns. The answer is more good guys with guns. The one thing that all of these degenerates have in common, is that they are cowards. They don’t attack military bases, they attack known unarmed people in places known to not allow guns. If they knew that everyone was packing, most of them would reconsider.

Not really. Should they arrest everyone else who says things like that? A non specific threat. Tens of thousands would be arrested in that case.

Anyone know how he acquired the rifles? I’m sure it’s been discussed ad nauseam but I haven’t seen anything on it. TIA

It was reported to have been done "legally". Meaning he likely walked into a store or bought it online then picked it up at a store. The latter probably preferable in his case.

According to CBS nightly news police had contact with Crimo twice.

Once in April 2019 for a suicide attempt.

The 2nd time in Sept 2019 when he said he was going to "kill everyone."

Police removed 16 knives, a dagger, and a sword, but said there was not probable cause to arrest him.

Looks like the police dropped the ball again
Nope. The police did all they could. They couldn't put him on a no guns list because you 2A zealots think that someone who owns 16 knives, a sword, a dagger, who is suicidal and also expresses their desire to kill everyone shouldn't be denied access to semi-auto rifles.

This is on YOU.

He attacked a 4th of July parade with tons of armed cops around.

Also, Illinois allows concealed carry with a permit.

I am just pointing out that it wasn't a soft target like the other poster claimed. There were police all over and the state allows concealed carry.

Similar to Uvalde a security camera captured cops responding from a couple of blocks away. When you see people start running right to left, you see one cop hop on his bike and start peddling towards the gunfire, another cop continues to slowly walk his bike to the gunfire, and two cops are seen peddling with the crowd. One acts as if he can't tell where all the gunfire is coming from or that he doesn't hear it.

In Illinois, public gatherings and special events are off-limits, regardless of permit status. So is public transportation.

Nice try.

OK, didn't know that on the concealed carry part. But clearly cops were there, right?

Clearly. But don't you think that's supportive of the suggestion that citizens should have fewer restrictions on their right to defend themselves, not more?

In your view what should the police have done…and within the scope of what they are able to practically do?

I'm not as familiar with Illinois state law as I am with others, but was there something preventing police from using the state's FRO law?

Firearms Restraining Order. I think that's what they call it.
