Suppressing the vote also hurts young people/students.
Suppression?
Hardly!
Responsibility?
You bet!

Todd Akin made his "legitimate rape" comment on August 19, 2012. He led in every single poll, but one which was tied, from January 2012 - August 20, 2012. After that date he trailed in every poll but one. LINK Imagine if something similar happened within 35 days of an election.
All I'm asking for is one example of this happening. Shouldn't be hard. I don't want to have to use my imagination. Usually when I do it just ends up with me whacking off.

I'll also cop to the cheating when you explain how a republican with ID managed to vote several times in Wisconsin for Walker or how Dinesh cheated with an ID.

Good, they're fricking idiots
I agree. But if you are going to make them eligible for the draft, they should have the right to vote as well.

quote:Why do I have to answer questions about something I never proposed? If a state has 28 days you don't see me arguing they should increase. There is great variation in early voting, yet you haven't seen me arguing for extending those that are less than 35. If they decided to shorten it I would ask why.
On a side note you've failed to respond to the numerous people asking why stop at 35 days and not increase to a larger number.
Should I ask each poster who has a differing date: same day, a week, 2 weeks why they can't get together and figure out the acceptable minimum amount of time?

So, you don't have an example.
In the 26 October 1980 Gallup poll, Jimmy Carter held a wide lead over Reagan. It was well outside MOE. Carter was at 47%. Ronald Reagan was at 39%. Following their 29 Oct Presidential debate, Reagan overcame the largest deficit since Gallup polling began in 1936 to win in a landslide.

If white people were impacted by limiting early voting the Republics would be opposed to limiting it.
It's clear this is an attempt by the GOP to suppress black people from voting. If the GOP is so sure that they are the right thing for this country they wouldn't care about early voting.

Then I'm sure you will agree that we need far more strict gun laws cause we require insurance, licensing for cars.
Our rights are sacrosanct or they are not. But, then again, I'm posting on a board that wants: less voters, voting tied to IQ, voting tied to taxes, voting tied to prop ownership. Of course my answer is weak.

Nobody is debating thst the electorate can shift. We are talking about something that was revealed.
It is kind if sad that you would try to compare THE ONLY PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE to our current system.

quote:I could post numerous articles about voter fraud convictions that have been posted before on here during voter ID threads, and you'd still deny it happens, because you're a disingenuous prick liberal. The sad part is, of all the actual convictions for voter fraud, the vast majority of voter fraud is never even investigated because "there's no evidence". Sorry to tell you, but lack of evidence does not mean lack of a crime.
I'll happily admit to cheating when you acknowledge the Bush commissioned report on cheating, which found nothing

I'm posting on a board that wants: less voters
You are posting on a board that wants validity of the process. PERIOD!
You couldn't care less about validity. You are in search of numbers regardless of means of attaining them.
Why are you in favor of denying all Americans access to an ID?

Dems want more ignorant and uninformed people to vote because it favors them.

Do you have some examples of people cheating and getting away with it, other than what has always existed: machine politics, etc. stuff thst ID won't solve.
WASHINGTON, April 11 — Five years after the Bush administration began a crackdown on voter fraud, the Justice Department has turned up virtually no evidence of any organized effort to skew federal elections, according to court records and interviews.
But, wtf, let's spend more money at a problem that doesn't exist. When did the GOP become the party of throwing money at a problem? As if throwing money solves anything. Amirite?

and comical. You dodged his comment and shrugged it off with a laughable, irrelevant response.
No one needs a month to vote. 1-2 weeks is more than sufficient.
Do your research, watch the debates, evaluate new information, and vote within the 1-2 week voting period.
And if less voters means, less people who refuse to educate themselves and do their due diligence as an American citizen, and only vote based on a letter or a coin flip, then yes, I'm all for having less of those ignorant people putting someone into office.
