What do neoliberals ACTUALLY BELIEVE?

Is it something I can get on board with?

Looking for a new label to parade around

Libertarian Party

Do some research on the libertarian spectrum. It's runs from socialist to capitalist on the x axis.

Or maintain your ignorance. Doesn't really matter to me

Hey Machine,

Did you ever find that data we talked about regarding the money we give to Mexico?

Doesn't matter. Left libertarians have less of a shot at affecting elections than plain ole classical libertarians. I'm happy for the former but disappointed in the latter.

Left libertarians have the unfortunate task of trying to figure out how to get people to give up their money for the greater good without a central government.

DS is anti conservative but does seem to have some neoliberal ideals if you can get his teeth off your ankle long enough to articulate them.

I hate how quite a few of us agree on a lot of issues but are still separated along some mythical left/right division. I think this election has exacerbated the problem. We've totally abandoned any economic arguments and the whole world revolves around these silly cultural axis

You didn't read what I asked for then. It's OK.

I didn't think you had that kind of information anyway.

to make this easy for you guys since it seems to much to grasp on your own, socialism and libertarian aren't opposites. socialism and capitalism are. as well as libertarian and authoritarianism.

the Libertarian Party has done a great just silencing the left side of the ideology.

hope that's helpful to anybody who actually gives a shite

Because the left side of the ideology is somehow even less practical than libertarianism itself.

Instead of searching for one unicorn, you essentially say "frick that, I want two unicorns. And I want it to shite gold and have a chocolate horn that regrows"

Who said socialism and libertarianism were opposites.

We know you are a mixture of both.

I thought you might have meant Livingston Parrish when you typed LP as some sort of dig like I see here.

Flippant answer: Read the shitposts on r/neoliberal for a while and you'll get the idea.

Real answer: Take a Friedman-type Chicago school libertarian who is okay with a central bank and has a generally utilitarian outlook. Radicalize them on price signaling such that they believe that redistribution is a distant fourth on the list of obstacles to growth behind regulation, tariffs, and cronyism. Add a modest sympathy for identity politics (think "affirmative action is fine" not "kill whitey") and a presumptive hostility to non-empirical arguments that can't be put on a graph (blood-and-soil-and-joshnorris-posts). Neoliberal.

It's a question of practice vs philosophy. Trying to find the optimal point of least government interference possible to achieve the nebulous "greater good". It'd be easier to be a libertarian by the more traditional definition, but this damned bleeding heart of mine gets in the way.

I'd estimate 80% of your posts are desperate attempts to paint those that don't think like you as stupid while trying to convince everyone that you are smart. Not uncommon on this board, but your posts stand out as having no subtlety to them.

You try hard, but the actual outcome is the reverse of the intended one. TIFWIW.

Oh I know, but the premise of voluntary socialism in according with a free market adds another layer of preposterous-ness.

Let's get one first, and one actually leads to less government if you do it first.

Doing the socialism part first leads to more government. That's why that side has been ostracized.

Cash rules everything around me. Get the cash out of the governments hand and it loses power

You don't understand your own ideology very well.
