If anything they should dig up the Yankees. Maybe they can find an irs cemetery to bury them in because they were basically irs agents

Those traitors and enemies don't deserve a resting place in our sacred grounds. Im almost embarrassed that my tax money goes to maintain their grounds...they deserve a resting spot in the CSA...wait...no other enemy solider gets that honor. And nor should they have ever...

However, you don't spit or dig up the graves of the dead. Thats something that doesn't sit well with me, even with me thinking they were shameful traitors. Let them rest, but lets never ever repeat this foolishness again.

I agree, but thats not all they want.
'Member when, right after Obama was first elected, and Michelle gave a pep rally in which she said "We have to change our direction, change our values, change our history", etc, etc? I 'member.

You're projecting again.

Moving the dead, based on bigoted PC politics is "rational", and questioning it is irrational??

We'll agree to disagree on that point. Slavery was wrong, and I don't think secession should have ever been an option. I'm not going to hold an argument on it; I'lll just leave it at that.

The poor whites who made up the bulk of the rebel armies were fighting to prevent blacks from becoming equal with whites.

That is not very laudable.

The rebel armies were not defeated. They melted away. Half of Lee's 60,000 man army melted away in 10 days.

Some leader.

So what? It's history, and trying to hand wave it away is what fascists do. That is their history. why imitate it?

Funny enough, the men who actually fought against them didn't think of Confederates as monsters and apparently had no problem with them being buried there. Seems like the Union soldiers could have had more of a legitimate beef than people almost 200 years removed that read things in a book or message board.

Not once did I say slavery was not wrong. Don't put words out that I didn't say.

I'll just leave it at that.

It takes a truly sick mind to advocate digging up bodies of people who aren't historical figures to "make something right".

I wouldn't be surprised if the author is legit into necrophilia.

You won't be digging them up. Don't even try. No one here has a legitimate beef with those men. None of you were slaves and none of us owned any.

In between battles, the two sides called a truce to clear the field of the wounded and the dead. They held conversations, drank together and might have otherwise been friends if not for the war. That was pretty common. So it's not unimaginable that Confederate soldiers would have been buried in Arlington without ill feelings from Union soldiers.

Arlington started as a reminder to General Lee the lives that were lost because of the war. It is precisely why it was built by his home. It was a civil war cemetery that obviously served other purposes later on.

Whether you like it or not, those who were in the CSA were AMERICANS, just like the union soldiers.

What do you suppose that the racist Michelle Obama meant by that? History is history. Period.

What do you think is inaccurate about the history of this country as it was traditionally presented? Just curious.
