He made his teammates look bad, a veteran, by standing for the national anthem?

I didn't make him say that, Tomlin did. And that's the point -- you guys are piling on Foster but he probably didn't want anything to do with this. He went along with his team because he plays in the fricking NFL and that's what you do.

I predict he'll have some serious knee issues. Might want to reconsider if he wants to continue drawing his fat, undeserved paycheck.

A forced apology if there ever was one. Sad that we're at a point where a three tour vet is forced to apologize for saluting the flag and country that he personally defended.

He looked like he was ashamed that he was apologizing for standing for the anthem

You live in a very white college town in Wisconsin. Le's not act like you are an authority on this issue.

I don't live in Madison, but thank you for taking an interest in my personal life. Also, I don't see how where I live is the least bit relevant.

True, but he was forced to apologize after. Tomlin wasn't happy. We'll see what happens down the road.

An NFL team isn't going to bench their starting left tackle war veteran because he stood up for the national anthem. Jesus Christ

The players, most of whom were not protesting before the Donald spoke, didn't care about the protest.

You can blame donald for that.

Are you suggesting that these grown arse men were baited into doing something they really didn't want to do? LOL

So then they lose an excellent lineman.

I'm not piling on foster, though he's obviously retarded. If I'm Roger Goodell or an owner or anyone in public relations I'm reading that and questioning the decisions that brought us here

But they're not

Ohhhhh the coach didn't sound happy. Fantastic reasoning.

"Hey Ben Roethlisberger it's me Coach Tomlin. You know our starting left tackle, the most important offensive linemen on the team and the guy who protects your blindside? Well I'm benching him because he stood for the national anthem of the country that he served 3 tours in the miltary for. His back up isn't as good as him that's why he doesn't start but you should be fine. Good luck today"

Seems reasonable.

My point is that you guys are piling on Foster for no good reason. You should direct that anger at Tomlin, especially if you are a Steelers fan. Foster clearly didn't want to do it, but went along with it because he didn't want to rock the boat. That doesn't make him a motherfricker.

To see the backlash that I’m getting from back home, from people in my hometown on something I had no idea was going to go over like this

This is awesome

Can you imagine the shite that the front offices, team sponsors, and the league are getting, if this guy is feeling blasted from people in his own home town that know him

I LOVE IT!!

Thank you Donald John Trump. We do not deserve you after electing that fruit we just got rid of

What a GREAT country America is becoming!!

Then the organization followed up by trooping AV out to apologize for standing.

No what makes him a mother fricker is participating in a political statement while on the job then telling the fans who pay his salary to take their own politics out of his politics. How do you not get this?

The failure is absolutely 100% with management.

They've let this go from being something a few morons do to something that the NFL has now endorsed.

Which is just colossally stupid.

People are piling on Foster because he said
quote:

“For the fans that criticize us, bring it back to football. Take your political views somewhere else,” said Foster.

eta:The fans did not bring politics to the nfl, the players did. Now that things aren't going like they thought they want the fans to shut up
