Do they realize they made it political when they took a knee? When they let Trump set up camp in the brains.

Right - if anything, Donald's actions forced folks to take sides.
They can make the anthem and flag nonpolitical, again. I mean, after all, there was a time when Hank Fonda and Jimmy Stewart actually roomed together. Both were Hollywood stars when they chose to go off to war. They were diametrically opposed, politically, yet remained good friends (and patriots, although Hank's daughter remains one of the biggest pieces of shite this nation has ever produced).
It's difficult to imagine an America where that is even possible, much less a reality.
