A few choice nuggets...

quote:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will see an 8.2 percent budget increase for fiscal 2014, thanks to a $1.1 trillion spending bill announced by Congress Jan. 13

quote:

This influx of cash will raise the CDC budget to $6.9 billion, which is $567 million more than it received in 2013. This is more than the agency anticipated, because the president's fiscal year 2014 budget request for it was just $6.6 billion -- a decrease of $270 million from fiscal 2012.

Oh, and let's not forget the date of this article...

And there are any number of articles out there showing how CDC and NIH have pissed away tens of millions of research dollars on bullshite studies.

The $$$ is there, and has been there. It's been misused.

Oh, and again, Obama asked for LESS.

Wasn't 2009 the last budget under George W. Bush? Didn't the Democrats control Congress for the 2010 and 2011 appropriations? Please direct me to the budgets passed by the Democrat controlled Senate that include increased appropriations for the CDC for any years from 2009 through the present. Please direct me to any veto issued by President Obama of appropriations for the CDC because he objected to the level of funding.

Why bang your head?
Is the CDC a money pit? A giant waste bin? Or is it one of the most efficiently run govt offices?
I don't know but why do you?

What are the real numbers? A budget cut usually only means a cut in the annual increases, not actually receiving less money.

Not the point of my post. It was only to address the fricktards that have been trying to blame GOP cuts to the CDC budget (and/or the sequester) as a reason there's no cure (like the dumbass NIH director has claimed - LINK )

So we still don't know whose fault it is?

Well, the Obama administration's flat refusal to impose any sort of international travel restrictions definitely tips the scales against him in my mind.

There where no Republican cuts to the CDC. It's budget this year is larger than last year and it's overall budget is 35% larger under Obama. Why do these Dem.'s lie? The ONLY thing cut was the military, about 90,000 less number of soldiers and no new jets or ships. An increase was voted AGAINST, BUT NO CUTS IN ACTUAL AMOUNT OF MONEY.

Well, since he's fixed healthcare, I have the utmost confidence in him.

That does seem to be a pesky little problem.

So, your argument is that the CDC is underfunded? How very droll.

I really, really hate that the NIH director made this an issue. He unnecessarily polititized this issue. Now the repubs have to circle the wagons and fight back. A lot of useless energy put into this, when we have an epidemic on our hands.

Now is definitely a time for bi-partisanship. The director should have shut his yap on this. NO agency head thinks they have enough money, you don't drag up this nonsense during a crisis.

Tee up Trey Gowdy to find out where the budget money went....
Trey Gowdy was a useless blowhard. We found nothing out after he jumped in the ring.

All that talk of him being determined and how he will get to the bottom of it was nothing but a fart in the hurricane.
