I agree that it could be dangerous, but maybe this will finally cause Mexican citizens to hold their horribly corrupt federal government responsible for not getting their own house in order.

By telling them he will no longer give them sanctuary cities?
He's doing it because he wants leverage to redo a trade deal. He wants them to know how far he can push Mexico to the brink by the push of his Twitter fingers.
He's been pretty good at it so far.

That's because countries like Greece, Turkey, and Italy take them in then let them know that northern Europe is more than happy to provide for them.
