So Obama has recently bought a house in Cali and a vacation home in Hawaii

While renting a place in DC so the kids can finish their private schooling.
400k a year to 200k a year paycut is harsh. Obama must have been very frugal during his time in the whitehouse to afford such things. I hope he gets a Dave Ramsey like show to spill the beans on how the rest of us can do it.

I'd bet they've pocketed most of the money they've been paid, and I'd also bet Obama's books have sold very well internationally.
Nothing necessarily sordid in this. He'll make tons of cash giving speeches for the next 10-20 years, as well.
