Is the vote today? I thought neither he nor the former labor sec had enough support to win on a first ballot. They'd be better off going with Perez or the young Mayor from Indiana. Wonder what Bernie's play is for pushing Ellison.

The DNC is quickly becoming the party of anti Semitics. Obama was cleanly an anti semitic and a Ellison is going to take it to an entirely new level. Add in that the Southern White House is in Palm Beach, Florida and you can kiss the loyal Jewish vote goodbye. That's a lot of votes and a hell of a lot of money that the Democrats seem to be willing to lose.

I sure hope you guys can find a lot of LGBTQ people out ther to replace them.

I welcome our Jewish friends to the GOP. You will have a safe home in our party.

But the real blow to the Demonrats will come when Sessions starts going after the funding of all this recent domestic terrorism.

It's a paper-thin strategy of picking the person to lead based upon "hot topic" rather than qualifications. This isn't diversity, it's feelings, something to trigger their supporters to rally behind on the belief the chosen one is somehow, something Republicans don't support.

The DNC chair alone doesn't set the platform for the entire Democratic party, so I don't really get your argument. Sure, he's the mouthpiece for it, but the bigger role Ellison wants to play is better support to local and state Democratic organizations. There are examples all across the country where Hillary won a particular district, yet the DNC has nobody to even run for that House seat in 2018.

I know his ideology has been one of is biggest draws, but he's also recognized as a strong campaigner. Who knows if that translates to better grassroots support though.


I have no use for the DNC, so don't really care who they pick.

The media will portray Ellison as the second coming on King and like Obama, any policy or character criticisms will be dismissed as racism. That's just that sad reality of things.
