Nope, wifes a teacher and I make a decent income for my area. I live in a neighborhood with military men and women mostly in a decent little suburb. 100k doesn't go nearly as far as people think it does. It really depends on where you live but in some communities 100k isn't shite.

Depends what it looks like. I doubt I'll be putting more money in my pocket.

That person makes enough to live in a decent house and put food on the table without government assistance. That's lower middle class to me. You at 100k+ do not belong in the same bracket as them

Don't jinx this please. Finally middle class pass through income tax cuts. Should go up to 300K for single person however. Still modestly middle class in my opinion.

Nothing will get done with this current Senate. Will have to wait until after 2018 elections, assuming they are favorable.

I'm not searching but last week someone posted a link that shows what you need to make to be considered upper middle class in every State. The highest was something like $110k in NY/Cali.

I believe that was for a single person, not joint. Now the wife and I fall into the mid to upper 100k jointly in Atlanta. We don't necessarily live like kings but we can pretty much do whatever the hell we want and not hurt for money.

Exactly
These people don't realize how poor the average person really is.

I make well over 100k annually and I sure as frick ain't rich. I don't have frick you money. Yes, I don't starve and I pay my bills but that's middle class. I live in a 200k home in a decent neighborhood not a fricking mansion with a Lambo.
This is where people go wrong. You’re in the top 10%. By any mathematics measure you are “rich”. I get that emotionally... you don’t feel rich.

But that because you’re comparing yourself to the top 0.1%, not the 90% of all Americans that are poorer than you.

2 kids, daycare, a paid off truck and the wifes 2015 Kia, Mortgage, food, etc. There's not much meat left on the bone when it's all said and done. We can't even stretch for me a new truck until one of the kids is out of daycare because I'm dropping 500 a month on that alone and one of my boys is in school. It's all about perspective. I grew up dirt poor and earned my way into the 100k bracket and I can tell you....not much has changed from my Airman days. I have a little bit more expendable cash at the end of the month.

Then you should know you passed middle class about 60k ago if you're "well over 100k," assuming that's around 140k

Or how few “rich” people there are. Nor how little (in aggregate) they earn compare to the “middle” class.

Grew up dirt poor, on foodstamps. I know more than most about the struggle and I can tell you that with govt assistance and everything that goes on being poor...we still ate but it was week to week struggle and sometimes you didn't get to eat as well as others. As ive grinded my way up the tax brackets the only thing I don't have to worry about is my bills are paid. I make enough to not stress about bills but I also can't quit my job and live. It will never happen. I cannot retire, I don't have spare income flying out of my arse. Its Top 10pct but most poor areas 100k would be a lot. In Gulf Breeze Florida, it's slightly above median income.

Being the 1% means your grandchildren don't have to worry about bills.

The median income in the US is $59,039.

6.1% of households bring in $200k+
14% bring in 100k+

I know people earning north of $1,000,000/yr that can say the same thing. the ability to spend your entire income is not a measure of poverty.
