Shows that would be considered racist, today...

I remember shows like Leave It To Beaver and The Brady Bunch that would be dramatically different, today. However, there were shows that would be called outright racist, if they were on the air today. The black kid was the basketball star. The Polack was dumb. The Puerto Rican was a thug...
I recently watched an episode of Welcome Back Kotter - basically a bunch of high school kids of different ethnicities that made stereotype ethnic jokes about themselves. If this were a new show, today, how would the PC crowd react?
Can anybody name any other shows from back in the day that would be controversial today?

Almost anything from Norman Lear.

Archie was considered racist back then. That was kind of the point.

A "remake" is in the works. Don't think it will be true to the source material.

I just watched a Frasier from 1999 and it would've been axed (pardon the expression). I'll try to *find the season and episode.
Not racism related but a S4 Seinfeld stand-up bit was pretty harsh on handicapped/obese in airport.

The Andy Griffith Show
ive probably watched every Frasier episode 4,000 times. interested in where you are going with this because i cant think of anything racist about that show.
if you explain the episode i would remember it and post a link for you.

And many today wouldn't get it.

Not a show but Blazing Saddles would literally cause the deaths of thousands

Blazing Saddles is top of my list but any Mel Brooks movies would set off triggers like no other. Young Frankenstein and even Space Balls would have feminists' heads exploding.
