These store owners are breaking federal laws that carry stiff penalties and incarceration times.

If you believe the law enforcement agencies should enforce laws no matter what then you should be calling for mass raids to begin immediately.

This is about that meme going around that the President and the AG can't pick and choose which laws to enforce?

Well.....

It's complete bullshite.

The President and AG have broad prosecutorial discretion on which laws they can choose to enforce and which laws they will ignore. There is historical precedent for this that includes not just Obama but nearly every President is on record refusing to defend a law or a specific case

It's been an accepted practice since the very early beginnings of this country and will be the same throughout Trump's presidency as for example, the Trump DOJ will refuse to fight lawsuits against unfair voting rights laws and transgender lawsuits as well. It will be the same under the next president after Trump too.

Conservatives spouting this meme that the President and AG can't pick and choose which laws to enforce are either misinformed or passing off their opinions as fact. I hated Obama not enforcing immigration law but I had to accept that as he won that ability at the ballot box and the only thing that could be done was to impeach him or vote him out in a fair election.

This is dependent upon whether or not one views federal laws regarding substance scheduling (or anything else) as valid.

I don't want any of you crying about 10th amendment states rights if you're willing to double down on four decades of failed unconstitutional policy.

ETA: I guess we should ignore sanctuary cities, too.

If this happens, i hope the governor activates the guard and seizes all federal properties. In addition, I hope he places a shoot to kills order for all federals that resist.

This is an attempt at a gotcha on the sanctuary city bullshite. If you don't enforce federal drug laws then the federal immigration laws shouldn't be enforced

An idiot outs himself as an idiot.

The sun just went down a couple hours ago.

That would be part of the President and AG using their power of selective enforcement and prosecution and that is completely constitutional.

The President should crack down on sanctuary cities and ignore the pot shops and that would be perfectly legal and constitutional.

So you're saying law enforcement agencies should selectively enforce laws based on whether or not they determine them to be "valid"?

You don't think that should be left up to law makers and the courts??

I was in Crested Butte, Co last week and went into the store there.

It was like an Apple Store.

Super nice.
