Because you know THAT would be disrespectful to what the flag stands for.

Going back to 1776 people have died to protect the freedom and liberty the flag symbolizes.

While some may find the protest distasteful or disrespectful, the right to protest is exactly what the flag stands for.

Many who love calling out the liberals who are snowflakes are melting over this minor issue

Either you love freedom and liberty or you don't. You can't say in one breath you are for freedom then mandate people act a certain way towards the symbol of that freedom. By trying to do this you are fighting against the freedom you claim to be defending.

Can you just admit that you find it offensive but support their right be Offensive? Or do you prefer to control them like the SJW's do?

No. You just can't dictate common sense with a law.

I haven't seen a single person advocate that these players be forced to stand by law. Not even a good strawman.

Every single person who has voiced objection to this protest has done so under the premise that the protest it stupid and unecessary. Not under the premise that the players don't have the right to their stupid and unecessary position.

What's pretty dumbfounding is the left's insistance that the players have the right to protest the flag, but that other Americans don't have the right to protest the players. I don't know how anyone can justify holding both of those positions simultaneously.

My mother was talking to me about this yesterday. I'm currently serving in the Navy and I told her that I really don't care if these assholes kneel or stand for the anthem. I think they're stupid for kneeling, but their "protest" doesn't effect me or my mood.

I don't even know why this is national news. We are inching closer and closer towards armed conflict with North Korea and the top story in the news today is whether or not President Trump is a fascist for calling for people to be fired for kneeling during the national anthem.

The left REALLY wants to maintain the one sided "ruin you for your ideas" game.

It's their bread and butter

So you present a ridiculous question and proceed to point out how dumb the premise is?

I should like all NFL players and others who depend on the masses for their income to be very vocal about their hatred for the USA's mythologies and rituals. Force the masses to think and make an informed choice about whether we should continue this Republic OR whether we should go in another direction.

We need a "Revolution of Truth", so, I hope that all those who are inclined to do so should be out-spoken about their disdain for public displays of patriotism, or perhaps even USA patriotism itself. Perhaps they feel as though the USA deserves neither respect nor even allegiance. I do sincerely hope that they make their thoughts known so that the masses can make an informed choice about spending their dollars to enrich these out-spoken people.

No, it should be taught in a civics class!
Beyond that it's respect and common decency to honor the flag and the millions that have died and suffered to allow the rest of us to live in the greatest country history will ever know. That's what the flag stands for when the national anthem is played.

This entire episode is absurd and POTUS should just STFU.. Personqlly, I couldn't care less what the players do, but the continuing discussion, debate, and drama is annoying
