Small Colorado town proposes 'symbolic' ordinance allowing residents to shoot down drones.
The small town of Deer Trail, Colorado, home to about 500 people, is aiming to become the drone hunting capital of the United States.
Local officials are considering issuing permits to allow residents to shoot down unmanned federal government aircraft that flies over the town!
The resident who came up with the idea, Phillip Steel, says the ordinance would be "very symbolic" and he admits he's never seen a drone over Deer Trail. He also said he realizes that taking such an extreme action would be a federal crime.
The proposal calls for residents to pay $25 to obtain their drone hunting license and says that the town will give $100 to anyone who shoots down a drone.
